Being a parent TOUGH. Whether it's a one or two parent household the facts are they "them kids" will hurt your feelings and feel no recourse, PERIOD! The question is HOW will you DEAL with it? 

We often come across some hurtful things, OUCH , but when you are able to deal with them and have success, it's a Game Change . Deal with your Daddy Issues TODAY or they will deal with you TOMORROW !

Hard conversations represent threats to our relationship so that’s why we avoid having them.

When WE don't deal with the issue when it raises its head INITIALLY, it then becomes a way of life, find out WHY.  

The experience was awesome. They kept knocking on the door, I kept ignoring them, but then I finally reached the ultimate goal.

You wished HE met your expectations, it didn’t happen, he didn’t care but NOW it’s your time to not repeat the cycle. It’s time to take a stand, loose the excuses, and remember “You Get To”.
