Any legitimate spiritual leadership will be characterized by clear, continual fruit of the Spirit and an overt teaching and hope in the Scriptures for all of life and godliness.

The work of God is clear. We either remain in love of self or are changed in to lovers of God. Those who dabble with Gods Word are prime candidates to never be changed and never notice it.

Paul warns Timothy that there will be many among the church that do not truly believe and encourages the true church to continue to preach the true gospel with gentleness & patience to all.

Bad teaching will always abound. Bible teaching not carefully done by those earnestly presenting themselves before God will bring ungodliness to those who listen to them. But there is safety for the preacher and safety for the listeners!

Christ gives us a new life where new things occupy our minds, new people are focused upon and loved and Christ becomes our pride and joy.

God has extended the truth of Himself to us through a chain of believers who learned the truths of Scripture and passed those down from person to person to us.  It is now God’s design for us to entrust those truths to those who will entrust them again.

Paul urges Timothy to “guard the good deposit” of the Gospel that had be entrusted to him and to follow the pattern of grace and truth set forth by Jesus.

We can and must wholeheartedly embrace Jesus, his person, message and all his kingdom. We can do this by seeing the Grace he has already poured out on us, the conquering of Christ and his standing promise to stand guard of our greatest future and joy if we will entrust it to him.

Ministry paralysis grows in the void of a well fed faith.

As Paul opens his second letter to Timothy, we see both a deep heart for Timothy and a deep hope in the Gospel of Jesus.
