Love for others is the mark of disciples who are becoming deeply righteous. In these verses Jesus commands us to love even those who are not like us and those who have wronged us.

In Matthew 5:31-32, Jesus continues teaching us how to become whole people, by reminding us that marriage is God-centered and Covenant-driven.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus's call to his followers to "keep your word" is ultimately a call to more align your heart to his, by pursuing a righteous integrity.

How does what we believe about God inform what we do for work? What does it mean to be salt and light in the various jobs and careers in which God has placed us?   

In a world divided along ethnic and cultural differences, what does it look like to be the light of the world, pointing to our future hope of a world free of ethnic and racial hostility? Scripture: Matthew 5:13-16

Being salt of the earth and light of the world means treating every human with dignity and defending God's image in the face of injustices like slavery and abortion. In this sermon we consider how the church responds in love and truth where image bearers are discarded. Scripture: Matthew 5:13-16

Jesus tells His disciples their impact on the world will be like salt on food and like light shining in the darkness. What do these metaphors mean for how we as Christians live in and love the world around us? We'll explore these questions in Matthew 5:13-16.

We wrapped up the beatitudes this Sunday as part of our series "As It Is," walking through Jesus's Sermon on the Mount. These blessings that Jesus gives are a gentle reminder of God's love for his people, and the life that awaits each believer.
