What is the secret to contentment? We do not need to give-in to the world's message of being dissatisfied with what we have. It is not natural, but can be learned, once we know Paul's secret!

A simple summary of what God requires of us is to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before Him. The emphasis is on justice for ourselves (obeying His law) but showing mercy to others. Forgiveness is one of the most powerful things we can do.

Getting baptized, going to church, and being a good person will not get us into heaven, but we are saved only by calling on the name of Jesus. God Himself turned Jesus over to be crucified and God raised Him from the dead, defeating both sin and death.

Another remarkable fulfillment of prophecy is Jesus riding in to Jerusalem on the back of a donkey exactly 173,880 days after the decree to rebuild the city and its walls. When God has a plan, He brings all the pieces together.

We are reminded that the Christian life is a fight, but that it is a GOOD fight and that our race is distinct in its challenges from those of others. We endure by keeping the true faith and by longing for His return.

It is interesting that the last written record we have from Paul is about people. Although we do not know much about the names listed, they were important to Paul. Likewise, we are important to God who knows us even if we are not known by the world.

We have all heard that God is with us, but yet we are all prone to fear. God's presence in our lives should conquer that fear. Today's message explores some of the many times when God was with His people.
