Although Nicodemus was a wealthy man of power and influence, he did not at first understand the simple truth that he must be born again in the Spirit to be saved. We who are saved are born into the hope that comes from the resurrection and His Word.

Whether it is our church, our homes, or our hearts, we must ask ourselves if Jesus would be pleased with what is going on there. Since we are not our own, but are bought for a price, He has the authority and the wisdom to clean out what does not belong.

The first thing to note about the Cana wedding is that Jesus was invited. When we plan to invite Jesus to something, we need to ensure that He will be comfortable there. Once He is there, we should do whatever He tells us to do and put our faith in Him.

We follow Jesus because He is God, but also because He is good, He is our savior, He is our Lord, He is the Good Shepherd, and He gave His life for us.

Everyone's story is different as to how we began to follow Jesus, but the important part is that we do follow Him. He is worthy of being followed because He knows the way.

When we look at the life of Joseph, we see that he was able to forgive. We also must choose to live a life of forgiveness because we are commanded to, because we value our relationship with God, and because we can be of service to others.

John the Baptist gave all the glory to the Messiah. Our testimony also must focus on Jesus and how we were lost but are now found. It may cost us something to have a testimony for Jesus, but that should not stop us from sharing it.

Some people recognized that Jesus was who He said He was, but they did not receive Him since they denied His lordship. We must receive Jesus into our lives and hearts. Then by believing, we put our trust in Him for our salvation.

Man is born with an innate fear of both darkness and death. Jesus came to bring light into the darkness and to give us life. His light shows us what this present life is about and also the way to eternal life. With His light, we need not fear the dark.

The first few verses from John tell as a lot about Jesus. He is eternal and has no beginning. He is the Word by which we know God. He is both God and part of the trinity. He is the Creator through whom we have life, and seeking Him reveals His glory.

John wrote his gospel so that we would believe. Believing that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One, and the only way to God, gives us life. The life we are given is spiritual, eternal, and abundant in both quantity and quality.

John acknowledged that Jesus loved him. Although he had a special relationship with Jesus (caring for Mary after the crucifixion), he was far from perfect. Yet his love and his teaching made it obvious to others that he spent time with the Lord.

As the creator of all life, God has the right to shake things up in our world. He speaks to us to let us know what needs to change, often through His Word, His Son, and His Spirit. The question is not whether He speaks, but will we listen when He does?

Just as healthy people can't make you healthy, but sick people can make you sick, holiness does not spread as easily as unholiness. If your life has been dry, understand your mistakes and move on without dwelling on the past. Holiness comes from God.

Sometimes God needs to shake up our lives to get rid of things that do not belong there. But after that, He blesses us with His presence. The presence of God is what brings glory to a place and it is what brings us peace.

God called Moses to complete the tabernacle, but the work did not start before Moses spent time with God. God makes it possible for each of us to have a close personal relationship with Him. Spend time with God and then finish the work!

We sometimes look back and reminisce about the good days, but it is more important to look at what God has given us today. He has given us work to do and the strength to do it. His spirit will be with us and we need not fear.

When we leave God out of our plans, He sometimes withholds His blessings. We are warned here to give careful thought to our ways, to do what we set out to do for the Lord, and to put God first, not put Him off.

Zephaniah spoke against the practice of worshiping other Gods along with the real God. We cannot live with one foot in the faith and one in the world. The emphasis is on turning back towards the Lord in repentance knowing that He delights in us.

Rather than just prophesy about destruction, Habakkuk pleaded for it. God sometimes administers justice in ways we don't expect, however, like by using evil people. When we are seeking to understand His will, it is okay to wrestle with God.

Jonah went to Nineveh about 150 years before Nahum and the people turned back to God. By the time of Nahum though, they had gone back to their evil ways. Nahum warns the city of God's coming wrath, reminding us that although slow to anger, God is just.

Four things that matter: Faith, Family & Friends, Fellowship, and our Future in heaven. We spend a lot of time on distractions, but each day is a gift and we need to spend some of it with God so that He may satisfy us with His unfailing love.

The friends of the paralytic brought him to Jesus for physical healing, yet it was his spiritual condition that was first on Jesus' mind. Even believers need to admit our failures and not try and hide them. Don't minimize your sin; Bring it to Jesus.

We can't always do it on our own; we all need friends. To become a friend with someone requires spending time with him or her and being friendly. Have it in your heart to support people, showing grace to one another.

Quarreling is of no value. We should warn and correct those who stir up trouble with the goal of bringing peace and restoration. First, we ourselves must not be divisive people. "He who loves a quarrel loves sin." (Pr 17:19).
