Before the House left for Christmas break, they did pass legislation that effects the nation’s school lunch program. For my kids, like so many involved in the western way of life, the NFR is a week to dream. A week to imagine the excitement of being a kid from a little map dot town making it to the big lights of Vegas.

It is Snickerdoodle season! Actually, this classic never goes out of season.  

Looks like more than American cattle producers have beef with USDA’s recent announcement to open our borders and market to Paraguay beef. Now, Congress has stepped in.

But this time of year, it is time for me to revert back to one of our old favorites, the Snickerdoodle! And let’s be honest, there is nothing more cozy that a soft, buttery cookie hugged in warm cinnamon and sugar this time of year.
