I could go on and on about the gory aftermath of the Bomb Cyclone and the destruction, death, and weakness that it left. I can paint pictures with my words but unless you have lived it, you can’t know what was felt.

This week marks the 5 year anniversary of the historic Bomb Cyclone. I want to walk back in time, and talk about our experience, here on the Jones Ranch, during that event. 

This weather is spoiling us and making our minds wander to places that it shouldn’t quite yet. My youngest daughter just asked me yesterday if we could plant potatoes yet. Yikes, not quite yet!

So, what I am trying to say is, I really don’t know much about what is going on, off of the Jones Ranch. I still know one thing to be true, filling the bellies of the ones you love and spending time with them “breaking bread” is worth the time and effort.

So, I spy with my little eye, baby calves hiding in that tall grass, baby goats snuggled up by their mommas, fresh eggs in the corner of the barn, and green brome trying to peak up from the earth.  And for today, those things are good enough for me.
