I think we can all thank the American dry edible bean farmers by enjoying in the fruits of their labor. So start that big pot of chili cooking and don’t forget to add the beans!

We are in that sort of sweet spot on the ranch, if you can call doing chores in the cold of January a sweet spot. The day is pretty predictable for the most part and there is a rhythm to it.

And may we all work towards peace on Earth and goodwill towards others. Happy New Year from all of us at Your Ag Network.

So cheers to building stronger support systems. Cheers to supporting those loved ones around you. Cheers to letting go. Cheers to being brave. Cheers to 2025!

Closing out the old year with a new recipe! Thanks for joining me today on Ranch Raised!

We wish American agriculture a very prosperous and thriving new year, because we all depend on you.

Does anyone else feel like we have entered this awkward space between Christmas and New Years when it takes conscience effort to remember what day of the week it is?

The first Christmas was so simple and that is why we choose to keep ours that way too. For we already know where miracles and blessings are found, in the barn.

We are blessed to live this way. We are blessed to see the Lord all around us. And I hope we all never lose sight of all that we are given 364 days a year, in addition to Christmas day!

And now it is time for Round 2 of what Santa should bring  An average ranch wife that would make her heart sing.

As I sit down at the end of a very long day,  I decided to let Santa know what this ranch wife had to say.  Santa for Christmas this year my list might be long,

I am an out of the box thinker when it comes to gifts. I only give gifts that truly speak to me. I put a lot of thought and intention into what I am giving.

I tell you what, a candy cane takes me back! And to this day, I would still take a good ole candy cane over any of these sour, sugary candies that the kids are into these days.

This time of year, we start every morning with a drops of peppermint essential oil in our coffee grounds, so I for one appreciate the American peppermint farmer!

And when I look at the scene before my eyes, I bet you can see my heart glow. For I know that miracles truly do happen in a barn!

There are so many wonderful Christmas cookie options to choose from but this time of year, it is time for me to revert back to one of our old favorites, the Snickerdoodle!

Candy, fudge or cut out sugar cookies? Peanut clusters, no bake or buckeyes? Chocolate crinkles or thumbprint cookies? Monster cookies or the good ole fashioned chocolate chip seems to always be crowd favorites! You better tune in tomorrow to see what goodies I’ve been whipping up. I feel another recipe coming on.
