You Can Talk About That?

What is a para-church ministry?  What purposes have they historically served, and how it can it be helpful and hurtful to the church of the living God? Eric and Kevin who are both involved in different kinds of para-church organizations and who love the church have thoughts. 

Eric and Kevin bring their discussion on spiritual abuse to a close, touching on topics that were not addressed due to time (Eric helps Kevin not be too long-winded).  What are the requirements for spiritual leadership according to the scriptures, and why does spiritual abuse seem to crop up frequently within Reformed/ Reformed-ish Bible-believing circles?

Eric and Kevin discuss their thoughts on discipleship in general, but specifically turn their focus towards newer believers and people who have the opportunity to disciple newer believers.  This is their longest episode yet, but they hope it will be a helpful resource.  

In their first episode of 2023, Eric and Kevin discuss the history of linking Christianity and America, then discuss the question of whether it is compatible to claim the identity of a Christian and American simultaneously.  

As 2022 draws to a close, Eric and Kevin briefly (and yes we mean it this time) recount the podcast and how this idea even came about and conclude by saying what they are most thankful for.  

Eric and Kevin tackle the ministry question of whether or not to assume people we disciple or work with in a ministry context are saved or not.  Also discussed is the drawbacks of going too far with each assumption, and how to deal with different scenarios related to this.

What are the particular joys and challenges when working with Senior Saints and Youth Saints?  Eric and Kevin talk about Biblical truths and speak from their experience working with these two demographics of saints in the church.  

What are the pros and cons of teaching in private or public schools? Eric and Kevin who have both taught in public and private schools discuss their experience and thoughts on living the Christian life in these contexts.  Eric is the veteran, Kevin is newbie... but went through the COVID years and likes to think he is battle-hardened.  

In the age of "Me", how did we get here?  What is the Christian response to this? What even is "Expressive Individualism?" And are there ways this thinking has infiltrated Christian living?
