Yoga Strong

To be "Yoga Strong" is to pay attention to not only your body, but how you navigate being human. While combining strength and grace creates a powerful flow-based yoga practice, it is the practice of paying attention in the same ways off-the-mat that can be equally impactful. This podcast is a guide for yoga teachers, practitioners and people trying to craft a life they're proud AF about. This is about owning your voice. This is about curiosity, bravery, sensuality, and building a home in yourself.

147 - Redefining Strength with Lianne Saffer 17.02.2022

I think we often view “strength” as this intangible thing, out of grasp for many of us to ever reach it. But what if it was way more simple than that? What if strength was just letting yourself be seen, simply existing?  Lianne Saffer knows a thing or two about being strong. She knows what it’s like to be many things all at once, how to give energy the space it needs to live and grow, how to knock...

146 - Finding Your Life's Flow with Jane McCann 10.02.2022

Had a wonderful, vulnerable conversation with Jane McCann—a magnetic, exuberant, honest soul. We talked about going grey (on your head… and beyond), the joy found in aging, understanding the femininity that exists outside of us, lessons in parenthood, and the exploration of what it means to be alive in our own bodies as they change… And change they do.  Life, just like our yoga practices, is all a...

145 - We Can All Be Better Teachers With Emily Mariola 03.02.2022

It’s been a bit since we’ve had a guest here on the podcast, and I’m so glad Emily Mariola could be here with us today. We talked a lot about yoga as a business, and what it looks like not only to be a yoga teacher, but to be a student in the art of paying attention. 200 hours is only the beginning, we can always be learning and getting better as teachers, and it’s never been more possible. Connec...

144 - Showing Up and Serving Your People 29.01.2022

I wanted to share with you something I use—and hopefully you can too—when I’m nervous or unsure about showing up and doing the thing. If you’re wondering how to center yourself and move forward with a solid “Why,” this can help. Instead of focusing that nervous energy inwards towards yourself, you can flip it outwards and ask yourself what do your people need, and how best to help them. Buy Bonnie...

143 - The Intersection of Work and Play 23.01.2022

Look at the places in your life where work and play overlap. Know that everything eventually changes, and that means we don’t have to fear. We can lean in to change. There is no need to fear the work it takes to move—both physically and otherwise. I have big goals, I know you do too. Do not be afraid of the work, my friend. 142 - Talking Shop: Repeating A Flow 15.01.2022

Let’s talk shop, shall we? Should we repeat teaching a flow, and if so, how often? I have personally fallen into the trap of feeling like if I repeat a flow, students will be bored and I won’t provide any use to them. But there is value in repetition, in showing up the same way over and over again, and in paying attention. So, if yoga is the practice of paying attention… what would repetition allo...

141 - Permission to Be A Human with Rocky Heron 06.01.2022

These are the conversations that make me feel alive. Rocky Heron has been a guest before, and he will be here in the future.  Rocky shows up very differently online than he used to—more authentically, more openly. Some people are confused, angry, maybe even threatened by it. It takes a lot of energy to wear a mask all the time, to hide all the different parts of yourself. You have to stop trying t...

140 - Letting the Beauty In 30.12.2021

We have come to the last episode of the year, and what better time to reflect. When I started this podcast, I had dreamed that this could be a space to have many different types of conversations, to learn and grow along side each other, and to discover yoga in everything we do.  I’ve been thinking a lot about how we might be afraid to do the things we really want to do for fear of looking “dumb” o...

139 - Raising Intuitive Eaters with Abby Chan 23.12.2021

I had Abby Chan on the podcast as a repeat guest this week (check out Episode 119 if you haven’t yet) and I was so excited to really get into the nitty-gritty of intuitive eating—what it is, how to do it, and more importantly, how we teach it to our kids. Our relationship with food can be complicated, but it is critical to develop a healthy mindset surrounding it. Food is energy, it’s fuel. Food i...

138 - Your Vulva Is Magic with The Vulva Witch 16.12.2021

This week I had the pleasure of speaking to the Vulva Witch—otherwise known as Kaylynn Marisol Campbell.  Kaylynn is so many things in this world: a doula, sex educator, photographer, an artist… but mostly, she is someone who invites others to tell and own their stories, to walk with more freedom in this world. There is a serious lack of education, empowerment, and representation for all humans wi...

137 - Power In Permission: Let's Talk About Sex with Taylor-leigh 09.12.2021

What if you gave yourself permission to change your mind—even just for a day? The last time we spoke with Taylor-leigh, she declared herself the horniest person alive. Now, she’s in a much more explorative space with her sexuality. We talk about finding your own erotic blueprint, the masculine and feminine within all of us, an unfortunate bush-trimming incident, and a lot about the power of permis...

136 - Calling Others Into Existence with Logan Martin 02.12.2021

Watching people step into their own journeys is something so special and so, so exciting to watch. My guest this week, Logan Martin, is not only stepping in to his own journey, but is a facilitator for others to do the same. Love does not technically “exist”—it is intangible. But love calls something or someone into existence, and that is exactly what Logan is and does.  Connect with Logan : Websi...

135 - Your Joy Is Contagious 25.11.2021

I wanted to talk a little about changing, about trying something new, and forcing ourselves in to do the thing... When you can no longer NOT do it, then you will do it. Lean in to trust and abundance and release whatever shame you feel about not doing it, because it will start to eat at you. If you’re wallowing in shame, you’re not going to feel joy—and we need your joy. It is so necessary, and so...

134 - Have the Audacity to Do It with Shelby Tagge 18.11.2021

I have always been fascinated by dancers—their ownership and embodiment of emotion through movement, how they meld strength and control to create gracefulness. In a way, yoga is how I found dance and the freedom to move in my own body, which always felt so tall, so lean, so stiff.  I brought Shelby Tagge on today because I wanted to get to know Shelby, the person, not just Shelby, the brand. Shelb...

133 - Harnessing the Power of Your Breath with Audrey O'Brien 11.11.2021

Our breath is vital. It is power, it is medicine, it is life. When our lives start to take different paths than we had once planned, the one thing we have control over is our breath. Audrey O’Brien is burning down illusions and restructuring what it means to be in relationship with others. She is operating out of abundance and enhancing spiritual connection through the power of conscious breath. I...

132 - This Is An Adventure with Really Real Mama Amber Albin 04.11.2021

Showing up authentically in this life for our kids, our friends, owning our bodies, and being women in charge of shit… fuck, it’s a lot. It takes so much courage and it’s terrifying at times. But instead of being afraid, what if we viewed it as an adventure?  We spent this episode talking about what it’s like to be a leader, to show up authentically, finding yourself first so you can better serve...

131 - Steps to Separation 28.10.2021

As this month draws to a close, I’ve had some time to contemplate change. October has always been a month of change for me. The world shifts, leaves turn and fall… witnessing these moments of change feels holy to me. In nature, yes, but also in people, in relationships, in thought processes. October marks the anniversary of my children’s father moving out, so I wanted to have a conversation about...

130 - Sex after Cancer: Let’s Talk About Sex with Novi Rotteveel 22.10.2021

Perhaps you or someone you love has navigated being diagnosed with cancer. What kind of conversations about sexuality, body image, shame, and libido were shared? Were there conversations about touch? Was the onset of menopause part of the experience? In this episode, Novi Rotteveel, a friend, yoga teacher, chef, bread maker, and proud aunt, shares her experience walking alongside cancer and how th...

129 - You Invite Yourself with Wini Linguvic 14.10.2021

As yoga teachers, we believe the art of teaching is how much students are learning. An author, teacher, and mentor, Wini Linguvic has been working in the movement world and taught herself to celebrate the yoga that made her feel better, regardless of her Ashtanga level. It’s this “feeling better” mentality that has set her apart from other teachers as someone who speaks clearly and concisely about...

128 - Seasonal Alignment: Pause, Distill and Discern with Chris Miller 07.10.2021

Has late summer brought up the questions of where you are and what you’re doing? Is the fall season providing you with the opportunity to reflect on the patterns you’ve created? This is the third of four episodes this year about the turn of the seasons in alignment with Chinese Medicine. These conversations are with Chris Miller, an acupuncturist and Five Element Chinese Medicine practitioner. Joi...

127 - Heartbreak, Honesty and High Vibrations with Alicia Dell'Aria 30.09.2021

The word “broken” (broke in) can transform when we think of it as “broke open.” In this conversation with Alicia Dell’Aria, a voice artist, teacher, actor, crab mom and poet, she leads us through a short meditation and we talk about heartbreak and honesty.  Sign up for Bonnie’s sexy Sunday poetry prompts HERE Connect with Bonnie: Instagram , Email ( hello@bonnieweeks.com ), Website Connect with Al...

126 - Only Fans Sex Work: Let’s Talk About Sex with Taylor-leigh and Ellie Savage 23.09.2021

Today’s guest is really exciting. Ellie Savage joins Taylor-leigh and myself to talk all about our recent sex and relationship adventures plus Ellie’s job as an Only Fans creator. We cover the subject of belonging, women supporting women and the power of fantasy. If Only Fans is new to you, this is a good convo to begin learning about the behind-the-scenes admin side of sex work. Find Ellie Savage...

125 - Voice of the Womb with Marie Sophie 16.09.2021

In this podcast, we talk about healthy boundaries, the heart axis, being taught to ground ourselves, the effects of dance and how we talk ourselves into softness. Studying the body’s ability to heal itself, Marie Sophie has worked with dancers of the Vienna State Opera, the State Ballet Berlin and National Sodre Montevideo after healing from a knee injury that stopped her from pursuing her own bal...

124 - The Sacred Wholeness with Jenny Lee 09.09.2021

The phrase “this is medicine” means much more than going to your medicine cabinet. Jenny Lee, vocal empowerment coach, massage therapist, self-love guide, and yoga teacher, breaks down the term “medicine.” She's found healing in self-inquiry through her own experience with a bulimia eating disorder, being arrested, and examining the grief in her own life. We share stories about our many selve...

123 - My “YES” Hack as a Parent 02.09.2021

This one is especially for parents and caregivers. It’s also for those who work with other people. How many times do you hear the word “no”? How many times do you say it? This episode is a share about a “yes” hack that I’ve been doing for years. This is about paying attention to words that are simple but can make a big difference.
