YIELD Today With Dallin Candland

I'm sharing personal experiences, stories, and things that have helped me succeed in my life and get through the struggles I've gone through. My hope is that this podcast gives a voice for those who feel that they have no voice, and helps them to appreciate their lives and look forward with faith. I'll also be doing interviews with friends, professionals, and the like about what they've learned about loving what they do and making a difference in their jobs, families, and communities.

Group Habits, Straying, and Lessons Learned on The Way Back ft. Jackson Stewart - #257 02.12.2022

I met Jackson Stewart while I was on my mission trip. We hung out at college a bit and made some good memories. On the podcast today we talked about some of his struggles and what he's learned from them A BIG reason this took so long for me to get out is because the audio quality isn't super great - we recorded this with one mic in person and yeah.... however there were some great moment...

This One Sentence Shows You Are Moving Forward! - #256 29.11.2022

Today I found a line from an interview that Danny Miranda did recently and it really stuck with me. I figured that it would be worth making a podcast episode about (seeing that I didn't get out another interview out today as I said I would). Here's the line: "I have compassion on that version of myself." I feel like this goes along so many other things that show true self-maste...

There are 52 days left in 2022! I've learned tons about three things - discipline, focus, and momentum. A lot of these have been humble-pie kind of lessons, where I missed the mark by just a little bit. It's been kind of tough to eat that pie but I've learned TONS from it! :) With these last 52 precious days in 2022 I wanted to issue a special challenge to all listeners of this podc...

You Have Limited Space on Your Shelf - #249 05.11.2022

Over the last few days I've started working in a thrift store, helping organize books and help customers. It's brought a realization to me that is a pattern that has repeated throughout much of my life thus far. I've learned that when you find a pattern, you pay attention.  Here's my thoughts on one of the biggest insights I've gotten from working there so far. As always I...

5 Pieces of Advice Sweeter Than Candy - #248 01.11.2022

I've been home from my two-year mission trip for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 5 years now! Time truly is flying away.  With that said, I feel I have gotten WAY too lax in my systems and WAY too hard on myself (instead of the other way around!). Honestly being hard on my systems and lax with myself sounds like the dream.  I thought I'd make an episode giving myself...

Creating a Fortress of Solitude and a Hall of Happy Moments - #242 11.10.2022

This was a quick deep dive into one of the things I have been looking a lot for lately - solitude. There are some clues from my life and what I've been exposed to that have helped me better understand this mystery. Although this is kind of an individual thing, here are two beliefs I think everyone needs to have before they are able to achieve a higher level of solitude in their daily life. 1....

Despised, Respected, Then Trusted - #241 07.10.2022

It's humbling when you are in a difficult time and you are just stacking up little wins, and deliverance feels far away When you have an idea of what you are going after that helps a lot. I am learning more about trust - trusting the process, trusting people that care about me, and trusting God. I hope that something I say here is helpful for you. :) More From Me: My Medium: https://medium.co...

Delegation - #240 04.10.2022

Delegation is a very beautiful concept. It allows someone to give work that they would rather not do to someone else so they can work more on their priority.  I dove deeper into this concept and shared some ways that it has blessed me in my life, and also how not doing it has hurt me. The Sense of Urgency is Up to You - #236 19.09.2022

I have been prone in my life (especially recently) for something outside of me to affect the inside of me. Although there is some merit to this kind of thinking, there are plenty of flaws. At the end of the day it all comes back to the fact that the sense of urgency is up to you. Support the show
