YIELD Today With Dallin Candland
I'm sharing personal experiences, stories, and things that have helped me succeed in my life and get through the struggles I've gone through. My hope is that this podcast gives a voice for those who feel that they have no voice, and helps them to appreciate their lives and look forward with faith. I'll also be doing interviews with friends, professionals, and the like about what they've learned about loving what they do and making a difference in their jobs, families, and communities.

God's Plan is Bigger Than Yours - #385 07.11.2023 5:04
I know I said that I would get the Dave Harrell interview out at 7. I got into doing my writing today on my book though and got so into it! I am reminded that God's plan is bigger than mine, and patience is key. One day at a time. I'll upload the interview with Dave tomorrow. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to make it but I said I would anyway. Lesson learned. Support the show
Focus on What You Can Control - #384 06.11.2023 5:46
It's good to focus on the things that are within your control. It's easy to focus and pay attention to things outside of our control. What happens when we do this though is we tend to fall off a little bit. My voice is also pretty weak right now, but I know that I need to focus on what I need to prioritize. I can control: Time I put into my podcast Time I go to bed Time I put into resea...

The plan is to get the Kindle version out on November 10 and then go from there. For now I am putting my all into getting the Kindle version as good as it can get. I feel very strongly this is what a lot of my life has l...
God Will Help You Ascend in Life - #381 01.11.2023 20:35
Over the last year, I feel God has taken me on a real journey. It was to help me understand myself, forgive myself, and love myself. It was to help me ascend to a new life, peace, and way of being. I've come a long way. Now I feel much farther down the road, but I still have a long way to go. Today marks six years of my getting home from my two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of L...
Raising the Volume on Light, Hope, and Healing ft. Bob Morley - #380 31.10.2023 42:59
Bob Morley has helped me a great deal in my journey thus far. He was one of my professors at BYU Idaho and has appeared on this podcast three times! With the first time he came on the audio wasn't good at all (my bad) and so I had to scrap it. Those were different times. But my second and third interviews with him are here and live on! They are a great strength and blessing to me and I hope t...

Trust in the Ripples of Your Life - #378 30.10.2023 4:58
Life can feel complicated at times. When this happens, it's good to look at the ripples of your life, and know that those will add up. You don't need to make any giant splashes, just focus on little ripples each day - they will add up. Support the show
Creating a Safe Space for People - #377 27.10.2023 15:57
It's very nice when we are feeling lost and in the dark to have someone (or something) that we can confide in. For me I have been going to the lake, the cemetery and talking with people to help me work through these things. I talked a bit about this, and also about how God is our ultimate safe space. Don't Let Fear Delay Your Adventure! - #375 23.10.2023 17:11
Fear can be useful, but its use has clear limits. When we listen to fear and let it cause it to not do something we'd like to do, it's obviously worn out its welcome. When you have a lot of fear it can be a good sign that you're on the right track. From there you can let love help you continue, for perfect love casts out fear. I shared the story of creating StoryBall out of basicall...

God Can Use Your Weakness for Great Things! - #373 19.10.2023 20:36
The last episode was born because my ADHD brain assumed I had dropped the ball and not uploaded an episode on Monday. Then I checked my phone again and yep it turns out that that other episode WAS uploaded. I realized that this was an example of the Lord using my weakness to create something beautiful. I think sometimes we think of weaknesses wrong. We think that they are something not to be share...
When Things Don't Go According to Plan - #372 18.10.2023 20:12
Funny story I was certain I didn't upload the "Wave at Random People" episode on Monday. I thought this because I saw one thing and assumed something that wasn't true. I checked my phone when I was about to do the dishes for my family. I was going to listen to a podcast and I checked mine and I didn't see the "Wave at Random People" episode. I panicked and immedi...

Get Rid of The Fluff! - #370 12.10.2023 12:26
Been learning a lot about this recently. Glad to finally have this episode out addressing this topic. If something is not contributing to the person that you'd like to become then it is likely fluff. Fluff will make bluffs all day about how you need it. The truth though is that the fluff needs you. Giving Grace in Life's Traffic Jams Episode ft. Leslie Davis - https://podcasts.apple.com/...
Respecting The Buildup of The Soul - #369 10.10.2023 19:17
I feel that my soul has been builtup very purposefully over the last year or so. Some reason I feel that this week is going to have some significant events that happen in my life. This weekend I'm going to Washington D.C. with my brother to a Young Single Adult Church Conference and I'm excited for that! Along with this feeling I decided to not upload any interviews this week. There is Wisdom in Slowing Down - #367 03.10.2023 24:18
I had an experience while on my run that helped me see that I probably needed to slow down today. With that thought in mind this episode came and so here we are. I am playing the long game with this and that includes slowing down when I need to. I am picking up the pace with some things (like the YIELD Today YouTube Channel) and slowing down in others. That is my current strategy, and I'm goi...

Overthinking Does NOT Lead to Joy - #364 21.09.2023 16:11

Be Patient With Moving Pieces - #362 14.09.2023 12:16
There are many moving pieces in my life right now. In this episode I talked about the importance of having patience on those things. Getting an interview up today would have been grand.
