Louisville eliminates Mississippi State at the College World Series.  Dangerous winds swept across the South and killed two on Thursday.  Eartha Kitt (1927-2008) was a multitalented star from South Carolina – and likely kin to host Jon Rawl.  And as we wrap our expedition to the eighth state admitted to the union, we review the Palmetto State's beach and barbecue offerings.
