Episodes

Ultraman, from a distant planet land 08.02.2024

In which X7 takes a look at the first three Ultraman episodes he ever saw as a young agent. There is no real history of the show here, that will come later, as X7 loves this show. You can also purchase the issue of Xenorama about Ultraman from Amazon! Watch our hero fly!

The Power of Thor! 07.02.2024

In which X7 talks about Thor, the Norse deity associated with thunder, storms, protecting mankind, and all that good stuff. It is a short overview, and touches on the Marvel version a bit, since it was due to Marvel Comics that X7 first learned of this god. We do apologize in advance for X7's mangling of the various Nordic names presented here.

All About Green Dinosaurs (1953) 05.02.2024

In which X7 takes a look at the Roy Chapman Andrews book All About Dinosaurs. This book was ubiquitous in dinosaur-loving kids' libraries for at least thirty years. X7 has had several copies himself, generally donated from older kids who somehow outgrew their love of dinosaurs. We blame sportsball for that unique phenomenon. Take a trip back to 1953 and the Gobi Desert! And yes, that is the co...

The Creature Lives Among Us! 05.02.2024

In which X7 presents an overview of the cultural impact of the Creature from the Black Lagoon. The Creature has been with us for 70 years now, and has become an icon. Most people will know of whom you speak if you say Black Lagoon. That is a great legacy!

The Curly Shuffle 04.02.2024

In which X7 takes a short look at the Three Stooges, and doesn't complain about weather too much! We will revisit the Boys many more times in the future. This is the FULL episode.

7 Song Friday 2-02 02.02.2024

In which X7 listens to seven random songs again and discusses them a bit. He provides trivia about some of the songs and artists as well. He has actually seen two of the artists in concert at Red Rocks, back in the day! He seems to think that makes him cool or something.

What if we talk about What If? 01.02.2024

In which X7 visits the Watcher on the Blue Area of the Moon. Or does he? We hear the plan for "What If Thursdays" where X7 talks about the first twenty-four or so issues of the What If? comic book that ran from 1977 to 1984. The plan is to do these reviews on Thursdays. Get your cosmic treadmill ready, we are going to visit the Multiverse!

200 Years of Dinosauria! 01.02.2024

In which X7 waxes philosophical about the influence of dinosaurs, both in popular culture and his own life. The first dinosaur was named back in 1824, even before the term "dinosaur" was created. Rowr!

The Amazing 3 are a Wonder! 30.01.2024

In which X7 looks at what is probably the most obscure Japanese cartoon that was released in the US. The Amazing 3 was not aired for long in the States, and there are only three stations that have proof they had it on their airwaves. That is pretty darn rare, I would say!

Call Him 8th Man! 29.01.2024

In which X7 takes a look at a rarer Japanese cartoon, Tobor, the 8th Man! How many times do you see the main character get killed in the first episode? Good thing a genius (literally) was walking by as this happened. After transferring Detective Brady's brainwaves into a robot body, Tobor is born. He goes on to fight for right and good for 52 episodes here in the States. He had four more episo...

Pinkymaniacs Live! 29.01.2024

In which X7 discusses the previous night's adventure to Loveland and seeing a wonderful funny show. It was full of music, cartoons, comedy, and yes, even some tears. Not from X7, he has no qualities like that at all. And anyone who says he does that is a liar and not anyone's friend! Rob Paulson and Randy Rogel put on a great show, and the meet and greet was the best part of it all!

Kimba, the White Lion 27.01.2024

In which X7 looks at the original cartoon series Kimba the White Lion ( Jungle Emperor Leo ) and several of the sequels and remakes. He touches on The Lion King controversy for a minute (he isn't nearly as salty about it now, as opposed to 30 years ago) but it is easy to see which version he feels is superior. Let us head down to deepest, darkest Africa and visit Kimba and his amazing friends!

7 Song Friday 1-26 26.01.2024

In which X7 listens to seven (seven... seven!) random songs in a row and talks about them. He goes into the history of the songs and from whence they came. One is the newest song yet!

Go Speed Racer, Go! 26.01.2024

In which X7 talks about the 1967 Speed Racer series, with mentions of the remakes and comic books inspired by the show. He also mentions the frustrating 2008 movie, which was almost great. Best to just watch the original series and love that the most! And if you thought I was going to name this episode anything else, you got another think coming!

Gigantor at your service! 25.01.2024

In which X7 talks about having a robot at your command, Gigantor. The show has stood the test of time, with remakes, sequels, and movies showing up after this first series. It is the story of young Jimmy Sparks who uses his father's creation, Gigantor to fight crime and villains all over the world. This all takes place in the faraway year of 2000 CE.

Zapow! Prince Planet! 23.01.2024

In which X7 looks at TCJ's show Yusei Shonen Papi, AKA Prince Planet! It is a black-and-white cartoon, full of action and adventure. Our hero Prince Planet has a medallion full of such advanced technology that it is almost magic. It is one of the lesser known Japanese cartoons, but X7 never forgot it!

Ganbare Marine Boy! 22.01.2024

In which X7 talks about his lengthy history with the great Japanese cartoon Marine Boy . He has literally been watching or talking about it or writing about it for over 50 years. He watched most of the episodes when he was in the hills of WV, on WDCA Channel 20 out of Washington DC. It was the greatest television station ever back then. All 78 episodes are available on home video, go buy them now!

Frankenstein Variant Authority 21.01.2024

In which X7 takes a very brief look at the Frankenstein sensation. A book written in 1818 had a massive cultural impact that continues to this day. Astounding!

Seven Song Friday 1-19 19.01.2024

In which X7 talks about the first seven songs he listened to on his iTunes today. This time he remembers to talk about ALL the songs he listened to. This is so much fun it is going to become a weekly feature! So let's get ready to rock and roll!

Inframan, the Man Beyond Xenorama! 19.01.2024

In which X7 talks about the greatest superhero movie ever made! It has no CGI or green screen effects at all, but it is action-packed. Inframan fights monsters with kung fu, lasers, and explosives. We would be willing to bet there were several injuries onset during the making of this magnificent movie. Thunderball fists, go!

Star TreX-Men 18.01.2024

In which X7 looks at the 1996 one-shot team-up/crossover between the crew of the Enterprise NCC 1701 (she's such a beautiful ship) and seven of the mutant heroes known as the X-Men. How is that even possible, you ask? It really isn't. Good thing Spock didn't use the Vulcan Death Grip on Wolverine!

The Ocean of the Future... the 1970s! 17.01.2024

In which X7 takes a small dive into the ocean. He visits the Seaview and its crew in the teleseries Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. The four seasons are talked about, as are the changes that drew different audiences to the show.

Peabody Here 16.01.2024

In which X7 takes a look at Peabody's Improbable History . These were segments from Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends , which started airing in 1959. They are still funny to this day. Who wouldn't want to have a genius dog in the house?

A (late) Bat-versary! 15.01.2024

In which X7 celebrates the 59th anniversary of Batman's first appearance on network television. Plus two days, as it debuted on January 12th, 1966. It is such a great show and saved Batman comic books from being canceled. That alone should be a reason to watch it. #batman #catwoman #DCComics

Six Songs on Friday 12.01.2024

In which X7 talks about six songs he heard in a row today on the radio. He had seven songs, but missed one in his notes. "Take Me Home Tonight" will have to wait until later. Doh! Even awesome agents are only human. He also knows that the Cars song is not from Candy-o, but Candy-o has a way better cover. #vargasgirl #rocknroll #newwave #powerpop
