Athanasius of Alexandria is one of the Doctors of the Catholic Church who spent 17 years of his life in exile for defending the truth of Christ.  His feast day is celebrated on May 2nd, and he is the patron saint of the defense of the faith, theologians, and faithful Catholic and Orthodox Christians.
