Learning to be religious like Jesus means choosing humility like Jesus. Humility requires being aware of self-centered ideology and refusing to let it become our way of life. God's word says he opposes the proud, but lifts up the humble with honor and sets their feet on solid rock.

Jesus came to introduce a new kind of religion. Different from any other religion – where all people can have a family. God sees the unseen, remembers the forgotten, and provides a family for the lonely. Followers of Jesus show that they love God the Father by caring for his children like he does and helping those in need.

"Religion" is not a bad word; it's a set of beliefs and practices. Jesus himself was religious. Every follower of Jesus is called to be religious – but religious like Jesus. Every follower of Jesus is called to build beliefs and practices on the foundation of his teachings and reflect them in what we say and do.

When we accept Jesus into our lives as our Savior, he promises us the gift of the Holy Spirit. Having God's presence means we have the Holy Spirit as our helper – helping us in our weakness, helping us pray, helping us know God's will, and helping us follow Jesus with confidence.

Romans 8 reveals that when we first accept Jesus into our hearts, we receive the Spirit of God and the right to be his children. But what does it mean to be a child of God? What does it look like to live as a child of God? Through God's word, we can understand what it means to be a child of God with his Spirit living within us.

We do not need to understand everything in the Bible before we believe the resurrection of Jesus happened. The resurrection is the foundation of faith in Jesus. The empty tomb is proof that the debt of our sin has ben paid in full. The empty tomb is proof that Jesus carried our weaknesses, and heals all sickness and disease.
