The reason we may not read, study or enjoy Old Testament Prophets is because we don’t have historical context.

There’s a King, the Mighty Leader, the One reserved for our worship, and then there’s the rest of us. James tells us two things to put our lives into perspective: life is brief, and we're living in the last days. In light of those two truths, how should we live?

"Judge not, lest you be judged," is an oft-repeated phrase even off the lips of those who don't profess to be Christians. Does this mean we should not point out sin in one another's life? If all are sinners, is nobody qualified to confront sinners with their sin?

If you and I profess to be Christians, we are the bride of Christ. There is no such thing as being both wise and proud. Wise people know themselves, and that should humble them. Are our political leaders, our commentators, our public voices that people think to be wise showing their wisdom by their gentle conduct? James says that's the mark of a Godly-wise person.

The most prone-to-sin instrument in our Body, God redeems and uses to grow His Kingdom. Not many should be teachers, because we are all prone to sin, but that doesn't stop God from growing His Kingdom!

Romans 3:28 says, "For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law," while James 2:24, "You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone." Is this a contradiction? Or is James describing the faith that justifies, is a faith that works? Listen in here...

Favoritism. Where is the mind of God in those moments? Do we not hear ourselves? God says, “I made each person! I want them all! I sent my Son for them all! I died for them all! I offer redemption for them all! I love them all! I want all to come to repentance!

We often enter temptation the same time we enter testing. God tests us, but it is our own desires that we are tempted by. To give into temptation, is to give birth to sin, which leads to our own death. How can we withstand temptation?

Many times we come to a point in our lives where we say, "God, what do I do here?" James promises if we're genuine seeking God for such an answer, we should receive. For those who ask in sincere, genuine faith, and not half-hearted doubting...

Beginning a study into the "New Testament Wisdom Literature," James, we find James confronting believers who have trials to do the unthinkable: consider them reasons for joy! Why? Because they purify our faith.
