We come to the story of Sarah's passing and see how Abraham honors her personally and with the community.

God commands Abraham to sacrifice Isaac and Abraham answers faithfully. We see the similarities between Isaac and Abraham and see that even from here, God foreshadowed the gospel.

Abraham and Abimelech meet to discuss a covenant between the two of them because Abimelech recognizes that Abraham is a man blessed by God.

Sarah is jealous and angry with Ishmael and Hagar and demands that Abraham sends them away. God shows that he is the God of those who he chooses as well as those who have been cast out.

What makes a good judge? Ultimately God is the best judge as we read through the story of Sodom and Gomorrah and see why God judged them justly.

Abraham walks with God to Sodom where he intercedes for them and asks God if he will destroy Sodom even if there are some good people there. God shows how great his grace is in that even if there are only 10 good people, he would spare the city. This all sets up just how fallen Sodom is in the next chapter.

Abraham meets the 3 visitors who turn out to be God and 2 angels. He welcomes them into his house and treats them to a meal. God then speaks to where Sarah can hear and affirms again that in 1 year, they will have a son. Sarah laughs not knowing that she is laughing at God.

We continue in the story of Abram and see what happens when Sarai tries to tell God how to fulfill his promises. When Sarai tries to backseat drive when God is in control.

God meets with Abram to create his covenant with him and to tell Abram how God can make the impossible possible.

Abram and Lot have divided amongst the land but now we see an invading force come in and take Lot captive. Abram reacts in faith and God continues to bless Abram.

Abram returns to Canaan after being saved from Pharaoh by God. Now Abram and Lot's men have issues and we see how Abram makes his next decision in faithfulness to God.
