New Year, new episode. We're back from the holidays and we got another classic hood film to watch. This time we get the animated classic "Bebe's Kids". We chop it up with Maura Sateriale about the film, get her take on the story, and discuss how Looney Tunes helped keep this film goofy while maintaining its hood vibes.

With the election now over, and the US waiting on who's gonna be the next president, we decided to pass the time by putting Yoshiko Watson on to the 90s hood iconic film, "Menace 2 Society", which stars Jada Pinkett Smith (pre entanglement). We chop it up with her about the film, Cali life, and of course hood slang. 

What better way to celebrate to Halloween with a monster sized episode. We decided to finish the epic story of Leprechaun's journey to the hood with the sequel itself. On our latest episode, we jump our guest Tim Warner into a gang. We put him onto to the film "Dayveon" from 2017. We talk a little about the hood life in the country, gang life, and of course get his reaction to this low key underrated hood film.  Note: Tim was not harmed during the making of this episode. 

We decided to change things up real quick. For our next episode, we invite Phil Hunt, who's from the hood, to discuss a hood film he's already seen.  We get his views on the film "Phat Beach", and just hood films as a whole.

We're back folks! Welcome to my hood film returns and we decided to hit the ground running. We chop it up with our guest Kattoo King and discuss the movie "Do the Right Thing" and bring it into today's climate to eventually find out it was in it all along.

WEEEEE'RE BAAAACK!!!  Marvin & Oni have returned like a McGregor KO in the 1st Rd. We decided for black history month, we're gonna start season 2 with a remake of a classic black film. So please join us as we chop it up with Dan Ahrens as we put him on to the 2001 classic "The Wash" which is a remake of the 1976 classic "Car Wash".  Let's get this paper CUZ! 

Our first Halloween episode. We got a monster sized episode where get a good 80 minutes of ranting and scary sounds like smoking weed (jk or am I oooooooh). Anyway, we also get back to politics as usual and chop it up about Leprechaun in the Hood. 

Fresh home from Comic Con, Oni and Marv now gear up for Halloween as they chop it up with the Bruv Jerry Lalee who is featured in the new "Joker" film.  We put fams on to the 2011 Hood Sci-Fi classic "Attack the Block" starring John Boyega and Nick Frost. We also take a moment to learn some British slang from their side of the hood. 

We're going around the world with our next episode. We chat with Adrian Davidson about the 1999 classic "Shottas".  Adrian tells us about his days growing up in Brazil.  And Oni and AJ teach us how the Caribbean culture was heavily influenced in this film along with other interesting lessons about Caribbean culture.  We also find out about how a special celebrity made an appearance...

No guest this week. However, a twist on our usual formula. The "Welcome to my hood film" squad sit down and watch a Hood web series we never seen before . Join us as we review an independent film on Youtube known as "The Land of the Pheen" starring up and coming Phoenix rapper Mac Pheen.  We also discuss some fun facts from the last episode about the movie "Phat Beach".  

We chop it up with Lauren Culp about the 1996 film "Phat Beach" which on paper says it stars the rapper "Coolio".  Oni gives his thoughts on how Coolio got into the film and Lauren discusses the notes she's taken as for the first time, she put her film studies skills to the test as she studies...a Hood Film. 

We talk stand up and Hood Films with the homie Jill Weiner. We also show her the 1999 No Limit Film "Foolish starring Eddie Griffin and Master P. Join us as we talk about the film, our favorite scenes, and the of course, the trap!

We chop it up with Kevin Janaway as he gets introduced to the hood film genre the right way.  He watches the 2002 masterpiece "Paid in Full" starring Wood Harris, Mekhi Phifer, and rapper Cam'ron in his first starring role. Listen as Kevin learns one of the greatest movie quotes of all time, and also learns the phrase "air it out".  

We got our first hood film parody. Malia Sias learns the term "wilding" and figures out the types of 40s in the world. We also put her on to the 1996 classic "Don't be a Menace to South Central while drinking your juice in the Hood". Starring the Wayans Bros, Marlon & Shawn.

We take Joseph Roberts to the trap...not an actual one.  But we do show him the 2017 movie "The Trap" starring T.I., Mike Epps, and Queen Latifah.  We also get his take on edibles. Available on Netflix.

We sit down and have a "Surprise Party" with Tracy McClendon as she discusses her reaction to us showing her the star studded sequel "State Property 2", for the first time in her life.
