Weekly Sermon

Showing favoritism to one group of people over the other is not compatible with holding faith in Jesus. When the standard by which we judge others is not the gospel, the church is hurt. Because Jesus has shown grace to sinners, believers show grace to others. James 2:1-7

Genuine faith in Jesus leads to genuine life change. For those who believe in Jesus, the direction of their life is determined by the word of God. Believers in Jesus do the word of God, not to be saved from sin but because they are saved from sin now! James 1:19-27

When we are tempted, we have a tendency to shift blame. In reality, temptation arises in our own hearts, which makes us responsible. When temptation arises, do not miss the opportunity to press deeper into real trust and faith in Christ. James 1:12-18

When faced with trials, believers in Jesus count them as joy. It is on the day of trial that faith in Jesus is proved genuine. Rather than trials driving us to ourselves, trials reveal a faith that is quick and eager to run to Jesus. Sermon Text: James 1:1-11

No matter how much reason you have for placing confidence in your flesh, it pales in comparison to the value of knowing Christ. When it comes to attaining righteousness, there’s no reason to trust the flesh. There is every reason to let go of everything for the sake of trusting Christ. Philippians 3:2-11

Jesus has been planted as the true vine that gives life to the branches. Life is found nowhere else. Because of this, the only way for the Christian to be fruitful is to abide and remain in Jesus. John 15:1-11

The way has been revealed to us. The mystery hidden for years has now been revealed in Jesus. We live in that age now! The church has the great gift of knowing the way and where it is going, so that others can be shown the way. John 14:1-7

In Jesus, the resurrection of the dead and life everlasting are an ever present reality. The resurrection of the dead and the life we have in Jesus is not far away and out of reach. Jesus brings clarity to what having life truly means. John 11:17-27

Many people, even regular church attenders, will go their entire lives not knowing in their heart that God laid down everything for them. We don’t understand sacrificial love easily. Because Jesus is the good shepherd that laid down his life, God’s love is accessible for those who believe. John 10:11-18

Believers in Jesus are weak, vulnerable sheep that are secure from powerful enemies. This is possible for those that enter through the door to the sheepfold through Jesus. Though thieves and robbers break in, the sheep are secure in Jesus. John 10:1-10

Rather than allowing the light to examine us, we attempt to examine the light. We like to be in a position to say who Jesus is! But because Jesus bears witness about himself, we either take him at his word or walk away. John 8:12-20

John 6:36-40

The free gift of eternal life is available to the world for those who believe in the name of Jesus. It is a simple gospel that we complicate because of our sin. What is keeping you from stepping out, and truly believing in his name? John 3:16-21

At the very heart of baptism lies the reality of the believer going from death to life through Christ. Baptism is an amazing picture we have of the new life we have in Christ and an amazing witness to ourselves and the world. Romans 6:1-11

While we observe communion often, it can be easy to miss the heart of communion. When the heart of communion is present, it is a meaningful gospel presentation to us and those around us. It draws us to our savior as we remember him.

Though Haman is now dead, his edict to destroy God’s people still stands. God in his sovereignty had Esther in place to plea on behalf of God’s people to revoke the edict. Ultimately, this story reminds us of the perfect lamb of God who pleas to the Father on our behalf. Esther 8:3-8

John 17: 1-11

In his time, God turns the tables away from what we expect to build his kingdom, so set your life on his direction! Esther 6:12-7:6

There are no coincidences when it comes to God, just ways in which he sets the stage for what he wants to do. Esther 6:1-11
