The only way to change the world is for people to change one at a time. When enough of us begin to think, feel and act like Jesus we will be amazed how things can change. Light always drives back the darkness.

The church in the city of Philippians was know for joy and generosity. Learn the story of how this wonderful church was born. The source of Joy is not what we have or who we know. It is the salvation that is given to us a free gift by Jesus Christ.

The earlier church was in danger of being ripped apart by a debate centered on the questions; who can be included and what must they do to be included? The addition of the Gentiles (non Jews) to the church was a major time of transition and debate and a major turning point in the story of God.

The Gospel sets us free from the penalty of Sin, the power of Sin and the fear of Death. This gives us the power to Love and do Good-- Not as a means of getting our freedom, but as a result of having our freedom.

The Apostle Paul warns of two major pitfalls that can keep us from experiencing freedom in Christ. Following the law makes us trust more in our own righteousness than in Jesus' sacrifice. And the desires of the flesh keep us distracted from the life that the Spirit is leading us to. True freedom comes when we trust in Christ Alone and choose to follow the Holy Spirit.

Living in the reality of the Gospel makes us Children of God. Forsaking or changing the Gospel leads to slavery.
