This week we will start the 7th chapter of Baba Kama. In this chapter, we will learn the penalty for stealing. If a person steals an item, he must pay twice the value. This week we will learn about the liability one has to guard his fire. One is liable for anything that gets burned in someone else’s property, even scorched earth and stones. If a person lit a fire on his property and it crossed a river or a road, one isn’t liable for those damages.
