This is our Easter Sunday week! Wayfarers celebrated Easter with a powerful message from Nick Griffin that walked through how to evangelize to others and what is missing from so much of our evangelism classes when it comes to the gospel message. He focused on three aspects of the gospel, it's beauty, it's goodness, and it's beauty. You don't want to miss out on this episode.

We asked Joseph Jenkins, our music minister at Wayfarers, to teach this month's lesson. Joseph compiled many different Bible verses, some in Genesis 1, Exodus 3, Isaiah 6, 1 Peter 1, Acts 2 and a few beside, to walk through the idea of God being both holy and generous. It's a great survey with a lot of scripture readings so get out your Bible and listen closely to this message. 

Today we dive into a lesser known passage from the book of Isaiah. Chapter 18 dives into the sociopolitical landscape during ancient Israel's time by looking at the area of Cush and how it was seen as a point of hope for the people of Israel who hoped to form an alliance with Cush. Nick breaks down what this passage meant to him and how it can matter even today, in our current walk with God.

This Sunday service we invited Dr. Greg Waddell, a professor of Mid-South Christian College and one of our members at Wayfarers, to begin our new year in the book of Isaiah. Dr. Greg spoke on Isaiah 6 and the calling that Isaiah experienced and how that can matter to our lives today.

Join us this week for our third week in our Advent sermon series where Jacob Dooley re-contextualizes the concept of joy for us by diving into the 1st century history of the Jewish people and how eagerly and hopefully they waited for the coming Messiah. Jacob focuses on the story of Mary and her receiving the news of great joy that she would bear the Messiah.  

This week Noah works through the second week of Advent discussing the importance of peace and how much of a struggle that has been in the church of late. He lays out the Jewish idea of Shalom (the Hebrew word translated as peace), and teaches from John 16 on how Jesus taught his followers to rely on peace in the middle of conflict and unrest. 

This is a break from our regular weekly rhythms to focus specifically on the season of Advent. Each week we will be exploring a tension in the story of the Bible that is both resolved in Jesus the Messiah while also continuing till his second coming.
