Dune has been one of the most anticipated movies this year, with an incredible cast, director, and composer; there’s no wonder why this movie is so hyped up. The hype doesn’t come unwarranted with the finished product, Dune is a fantastic world building experience along with amazing sound design and cinematography. Sci-Fi hasn’t felt like this in a while.

In the third round of our Slasher Series, we do the cult classic film, I Know What You Did Last Summer. The film was written by the same writer who wrote Scream, Kevin Williamson. Although it is a fun and campy slasher, we dive deep into the errors that could have pushed this film into iconic status. Come hangout as we talk about this slasher!

Today’s episode we talk about A24’s newest theatrical release, Lamb. A very unique and beautiful film made by Vladimir Johannsson that gets into the theme(s) of family in rural Iceland. In this episode we talk about how we felt about the movie, how the director intended for the movie to be, and how we felt after the movie ended.

In the second round of the Slasher Series, Team Carmela takes it again with the fun anthology slasher, Trick R Treat. Unique in its own right being a playful and bloody anthology of different Halloween tales around one small city. We go into depth of each tale, Sam, and Halloween traditions and tales that were going on when we were kids.

In the first round of the Slasher Series, Team Carmela took it with the slasher classic Halloween (1978). We talk about revisiting these older films with modern eyes, why Halloween is a classic, and the blueprint that this sets for slasher films, whether they may be good or bad.

On this episode, we talk about the new Venom film; Venom: Let There Be Carnage. We talked about the high points of the film, why we had a lot of fun with it, and using what they did best with the first one and amplifying it with this one. Shang Chi & The Legend of the Ten Rings exhibits Marvel’s first asian superhero, with a mostly asian cast and director. Shang Chi has to be one of Marvel’s best in a WHILE, with its creative action sequences, decent writing, and great character development, Shang Chi is definitely shining right now.
