"A Masterclass" - Liz Hofreuter Year End Reflection Walk 12 18.02.2025 4:20
3...2...1...It seemed pretty obvious that a countdown was the best way to discuss lessons learned during the Walk with Me project...so far. Not only because our brains seem to have been programmed to consume listicles and Top Ten lists with greater ease, but because, hey, it's New Years Day! So to celebrate, and to kick off the new year, Liz took note of her top 24 lessons learned in 2024. Som...
"Grace and Ella" - Grace and Ella Landini Walk 11 17.02.2025 17:20
I have to admit, it was difficult to Walk with my girls. They're authentic in all the ways I had hoped, which certainly doesn't always equal an easy conversation, but often comes with laughter and tears and imperfect perfection, too. How I love them, how I am blessed, to Walk alongside my heart strolling outside of my body. It gives me great pride to Walk with Grace and Ella.
"Not Going to Jinx It" - Luke Hladek Walk 10 14.02.2025 14:03
Elizabeth Hofreuter and Luke Hladek took in the Christmas season in a mall walk. “I don’t want to jinx it“ is another way to say I’m really grateful for the beautiful life and the blessings I have knowing full well tomorrow isn’t promised.
"Now It's Like This" - arvind grover Walk 9 13.02.2025 12:00
When I talk about mastering presence and calmness, even in the person who demonstrates it most, he disagrees. arvind grover PRACTICES equanimity. It’s ongoing and always imperfect. But on hand with his personal STEM - his recipe for success and strength - arvind leads in the best of ways. I’m so thankful that my first virtual Walk and my first big fail came while talking to arvin. Our Walk was so...
"Opening Windows" - Lise Beske Walk 8 12.02.2025 8:46
Elizabeth Beske, Lise as I know her (are any of us known as 'Elizabeth'?) was a college roommate of mine and someone I've revered ever since. Yet, when we took the time to put our feet in the sand and walk next to the waves, it felt like we had just met. Head to hofreuter.com to read (and listen!) to Lise talk about opening windows and overcoming imposter syndrome, or at least forcing the dragon f...
The Front Row at Soul Cycle - Rose Helm Walk 7 11.02.2025 12:22
Just before we set out, Rose texted me, ‘are we walking in exercise gear or is ‘walk’ like a metaphor?’ Leave it to a head of school to clarify expectations (even at the last minute) before showing up and exceeding every one. We talk ego, learning differences, and the difficulty in sharing your mom with 300+ other kids. Please enjoy the second head of school to Meet Me on the Playground, Rose Helm
"Max" - Eli Walk 6 10.02.2025 10:02
This one is different. In the five days following Nicolas’ infant death, the phone in my hospital room rang one time. It was Eli. No matter how difficult the circumstances to reach out, she did. This is her story.
"Running Hills" - Katie Regan Walk 5 07.02.2025 8:42
I caught Katie Regan, founder and CEO of @kirkpatgroup , a bit off guard with this one. She likes to prepare, to write her thoughts out before diving in. But at the same time, she's brave and confident enough to take on nearly any topic, so I gave her the choice. After a quick hill sprint challenge (see the preview post from yesterday) she decided to talk about learning differences before qui...
