Two-time Loretta Lynn’s champion Shawn Rife had a very successful amateur career with the support of Cernics, American Honda, and Fox Racing to name a few. The kid from Ohio was on the fast track to the pros before a couple big injuries set him behind in some crucial years. I caught up with Rife to get his take on his amateur career and what he’s doing now.

Keith has some great stories from his time as a founding rider with Team Green Kawasaki on his KX80 to his days with factory Suzuki and being hounded by Dave Arnold to racing for Honda. His time was brief as a professional but he packed a lot of shit in before he retired at age 19!
