Barb Whiteis joins for the hour. She responded to our call for listeners to send us their favorite westerns and come on the show to talk about them. Barb also runs Caille Farm in Minnesota. She teaches all the basics of how to ride and care for a horse. Many of her students have gone on to win awards in competitive situations.

Author Tom Zoellner joins us for the hour. His book, Rim to River , is a collection of essays he wrote while walking the length of Arizona--from the Utah border to the Mexican border.

Joining us for the hour is Kelli Payne. She's the former president of the Oklahoma City Stock Exchange--one of the largest places for cattle sales in the U.S. Kelli is also a fifth-generation rancher in Oklahoma. Our topic is the agriculture industry and how important it is.

Author Deborah A. Fox joins us to talk about her latest graphic novel called "The Man Who Beat Death Valley." It's based on the true story of William Lewis Manley, who along with a number of other people, who traversed Death Valley on their way to the California gold fields in 1849.
