This week our focus has been on Romans 5 and Zeke encouraged us to think about who God is and who we have become in Christ Jesus.

This talk explores the inevitability of suffering and what it might mean for us as Vineyard 61 as we seek to live lives of love.

Kenny continues our theme of resilient disciples. Reminding us that God’s grace isn’t opposed to our effort. As such its when our action (e.g. prayer) meets God’s ever present grace, where we find ourselves at our most resilient.

God is not looking for perfection or self satisfaction, he is looking for our trust in him and his will to fulfil our deepest needs and desires.

Continuing our series on resilient disciples, Phil unpacks the social context and  descriptions of sin in Romans 1 and 2. He explores what sin is, why sin is a problem, and how being aware of this problem can make us more resilient disciples.

Viv starts off our new sermon series on Resilient Disciples through the lens of Romans! By looking at Jeremiah 17 v 5-8 and Romans 8 v35-39 she unpacks what keeps us thriving even through difficult times.

Georgia takes a look at Jesus’ example of holding onto the big picture while walking through trial. Inspiring us to fight towards a place of connection with God when we have unanswered questions and are overcoming disillusionment and disappointment.

Elias shares with us John 12:1-11 when Jesus was anointed in Bethany and what that represents. Also challenge us to what we can leave in the Cross that is pushing us far from our relationship with God. Time might be your reason?

God has called us to be an Isaiah 61 church. It is who we are and we take it wherever we go. There are so many exciting things God is doing on the Compassion side of Vineyard61 and we can’t wait to hit the ground running.

Viv wraps up our series on rebuilding with Nehemiah and focuses on Nehemiah 9. This basically summarises the whole of the Old Testament with God’s compassion delivering us time after time. We are now the temple of the living God and he carries on pursuing us and enabling us to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds and souls.

An invitation to find refuge and strength in the joy of the Lord as we return and rebuild our lives and our community in the aftermath of the current pandemic.

Distraction often disrupts God’s rebuilding process in our lives . Let’s learn from the life of Nehemiah How can we persevere in a culture full of distractions?

Here is a message from SP with an overview of the story of Nehemiah that we have heard so far and how it relates to Jesus and the overarching narrative God is telling in the Old and New Testament. Could what God was looking for in the Old Testament be the same as what God is looking for in us here, today, in the time of the New Testament?

Georgia talks about Nehemiah’s origin story and the faith journey he takes to contend for God’s promise to the people of Israel. She explores topics of favour and God’s will and inspires us to embrace the inherited call on all of our lives to go into all the world and preach the good news of the gospel.

We engage in spiritual battle – But we should never get so distracted by fighting that we forget our main purpose is to rebuild. We fight the good fight of faith in the power of the Holy Spirit and with the sword of God’s Word so that we can build His kingdom with the trowel. And so Nehemiah and the people focused their minds on God.

Tabitha combats the biggest blockages when it comes to helping others. She leads us in creative ways to casting our burdens onto Jesus, and then once free, asking God, what can I do TODAY?

Continuing our series, Phil shows us how Nehemiah turned his sadness at Jerusalem's destroyed walls into an effective strategy to rebuild them. We are invited to follow the same steps in rebuilding our lives and church in 2021.

Viv talks from Nehemiah 1 where we find Nehemiah distraught about the state of Jerusalem. He is real with his grief, takes it to the Almighty God in prayer and determines to do something about it.

Viv shares a little of where we’ve come from in 2020 and where we are going as a church in 2021. Setting the scene for Nehemiah and inviting us to step out of our comfort zones and invite Jesus to come and resurrect and rebuild us.

Elias shares about how God can rebuild those parts in our life that look broken. Through his story and the book of Nehemiah he show us how important is to be open and vulnerable to other and close to God so He can rebuild in our lives, for us and for others.

This is the second of a two-part, advent message. The message explores Jesus’ return and the hope we have as Christians. Kenny looks at this through three questions: What does Jesus say about who we, really are? Where is time and history going? Where does that leave us today?

As we enter Advent, Phil takes us through the earliest written evidence of Jesus' human birth to remind us of the joy and the challenge to be found in 'God con carne'.

Do you sometimes feel a disconnect with God when you’re praying or reading your bible? Georgia talks about where God is when we experience silence and separation from Him and the strength of our prayers even when we don’t see God move immediately. She reminds us that it’s impossible for us to pray and have nothing happen and that God is always with us through every moment of our lives.
