While the dynamics of a covenant relationship may differ, the characteristics are the same. 

What the enemy expected, prayer deflected. Same God back then. Same God right now.  Acts 12:11  "And when Peter had come to himself, he said, 'Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.'"

Don’t allow desperation to dictate your actions. Trust in the Lord. Let your mind rest in Him and His promises. 

"Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread." (Acts 12:1-3, NKJV) Do what pleases God, even when pleasing God is not popular with people. 

When the world sees us (Believers), will they see Jesus. What makes us stand out? Acts 11:26 “And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.” (NKJV)

Peter and Paul were instrumental in fulfilling Christ mission for the early church. As they made themselves available, let us be intentional about making ourselves available. 

Luke 10:36-37 "So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.” (NKJV) Galatians 5:6 "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love." (NKJV)

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV); 1 Samuel 19:20-24 (NKJV) : Trust God when there is trouble. You have no reason to fear. 

The emotional responses we see on the service are just the tip of the iceberg. There is always something deeper. Let's take a look at the story of King Saul in 1 Samuel 19. 

When we have the belief that another person can make us angry, we will blame others for the responses we choose. When we decide to OWN OUR FEELINGS, healing can begin.
