Retail sales increased by 2.3% in March from a revised 0.7% year-on-year contraction recorded in February 2024. The latest increase follows two consecutive months of decline in retail activity. Five suspects arrested in the killing of rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes  and his friend Tebello "Tibs" Motsaone have been denied bail in the Durban Magistrate's Court.
