The City of Joburg - through the Johannesburg roads agency (JRA) - will be spending 1.4 billion rand on the improvement of roads in the 2015/2016 financial year. Suspended National Police Commisioner Riah Phiyega has responded to reports release by the parliamentary portfolio Committee and another by Police Minister Nathi Nhleo. Phiyega says both these reports are unlawful and unethical and she is now seeking legal advice in this regard.

Consumers must brace themselves to pay more for electricity hikes if Eskom gets its way with the National Energy Regulator of SA (Nersa). This is due to an over expenditure of 22.8 billion rand by the power utility during the 2014 financial year. Eskom is now asking permission from the regulator for it to recover those costs.
