Dr. Tellez, Assistant Professor of Intercultural Studies at UNW, shares how the "job description" for a citizen of the Kingdom of God involves loving the Church, blessing the world, and trusting the Lord.  Chapel date: 9/18/23

Dr. Corbin Hoornbeek, President of the University of Northwestern and Northwestern Media, shares about his heart and hope for the students at UNW, encouraging them to live their lives according to God's purpose. Chapel Date: 9/13/23

Dayton Dodge, our Assistant Director of Worship Arts and Spiritual Formation Programs, speaks about the inauguration of the Kingdom of God.  Both John the Baptist and Jesus use the phrase, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is Near" as a summary of the redemptive work of Christ and the Kingdom coming to earth. Darrin, our Director of Spiritual Formation Programs, kicks off our chapel year and introduces this year's theme: "Thy Kingdom Come: The Mission and Movement of Jesus".  Chapel date: 8/30/23.

Rose Larson works with Settled and also a missional life pastor at church of the open door. Rose shares her vocational work and what that looks like for her. She shares what working at Settled means and looks like for her too.

Darrin interviews Justin and we get the chance to get to know more about Justin and the role he is in now. Justin shares his thoughts on prayer, how God has moved in his life, and what God has taught him. 

Sabrina speaks on sin and the shame and guilt that can come with sin. She speaks about forgiveness and the redemption that can come with that. Sabrina speaks about coming back from sin and how to distinguish guilt and shame. 

Dayton shares his testimony and life story. He speaks about how he found his way back to Northwestern as a faculty member now. He speaks about his passion and love for music and his family.

Mark does pottery and relates his pottery to creation. He demonstrates how to mold clay into the shape that you want. How to position your hands and the amount of pressure or control you may need.      Isaiah 29:16  

Darrin speaks about palm Sunday. He creates a space for us to visualize ourselves in the palm Sunday story.       John 12:1

Craig and Molly speak about making things right with one another. Making sure that we meet closure with relationships that may be broken or on the verge of brokenness. They speak about bringing this to God and making sure we include God in these broken relationships.

Ben Glenn speaks about the testing of ones faith and how that brings in perseverance. He continues to portray this through a chalk drawing. Ben continues to speak about how struggles, ups, and downs can create a bigger beautiful picture.

Joe Biancardi speaks about how experiences teach us and grow us. He continues to speak about how the life of a true Christian is characterized by breaking and being built up again.

Dale speaks about bringing our hardships, burdens, and all the heavy things we have been carrying with us to God. He invites us to reflect on these hardships and reflect with God on the hard things we are carrying on our shoulders daily.

Terrance Rollerson speaks about three main things: Listen, respond, stand. He goes further on to speak about each individual main point. He speaks about having faith in the dry seasons.

Tabi Thorne speaks about patience and the life path God has for us. She speaks about how we as humans want to go where we want to go, when we want to go, and how we want to go. She speaks about when we follow God our path may not be the easy way or make the most sense.   Exodus 13

Darrin interviews Tim Sawyer and digs deeper into the person he is and how God is working in his life. Tim Sawyer answers questions about his childhood as a missionary kid. His career story and interests.

Rachel Gilson speaks about sexuality. She speaks about trying to not focus on the things that God says "no" to. She continues to go on to say if we focus on what God says "no" to so much it will feel cold and cruel. She goes on to speak about what God says about sexuality.

Darrin Geier gives us a time and space to reflect and process our pain, challenges, pain of others, and celebrating our blessings along with others.
