Episodes

Van Helsing 02.05.2015

Both Andrew and I were pretty big fans of this movie when we were younger. That made the disappointment all the worse during the revisit to this childhood favourite. It's still ok in places but overall it isn't as good as we remembered. 39 mins

Revenge of the Sith 25.04.2015

Donald rejoins Daniel and Andrew once more for the epic conclusion to our epic trilogy of reviews of George Lucas' epic trilogy of prequels to his first epic trilogy of epic epics. Revenge of the Sith is broadly considered to be a step up from the films preceding it, and we all agree with that sentiment... although just how good "best of the prequels" is is the subject of some contention... 50 min...

Les Miserables 20.04.2015

Join Andrew and myself as we dive into this classic story of hardship and tragedy. 39 mins

Attack of the Clones 11.04.2015

For the first time, we've released an episode that gives lie to our show's name - for once, we have Three Friends Watching! Donald rejoins Andrew and Daniel for round two of our dissection of the Star Wars prequels with Attack of the Clones, which we (mostly) prefer to Phantom Menace, despite stumbling by accident into some horrifying Oedipal subtext... 42mins

Talaash 21.03.2015

A great film with very strong character development and several rich and enjoyable side stories. The main story while straight forward is a little dull but there is so much more going on in this film that it's barely a problem. For those of you who are put off Indian movies because of the singing and dancing, this movie has about two or three straight forward songs that last only a few minutes eac...

Star Wars - Phantom Menace 15.03.2015

Unfortunatly Daniel wasn't available for this one. A terrible film in most aspects with one big Jar-Jar sized problem throughout. 51mis

Reign of Fire 07.03.2015

When a hoard of ferocious fire breathing dragons emerge from deep within the earth only King Leonidas, Batman and Rust Cohle can stop them. This to-the-point movie is full of massive plot holes but regardless is great to watch. 35 mins

What Dreams may come 01.03.2015

We do seem to really favour Robin Williams movies. This week we tackle a movie that is both uplifting and mildly depressing in very different ways. A fantastic story if not a bit odd and confusing in places. 45 mins

The Ninth Gate 21.02.2015

A movie that tries it's hardest to be exciting but unfortunately it was still not exciting enough. A good plot, cast and atmosphere but it doesn't really gel together as well as we had hoped. 32 mins.

Shutter Island 15.02.2015

When Teddy and his partner Chuck arrive at an island hospital for the criminally insane, they didn't know that they were in for a life changing experience. A fun movie with a great story and cast. 46 mins

Cool World 08.02.2015

Once again studio politics crush another great story. This disaster of a movie is the remnants of what could have been an incredible story. There are few attributes of this movie that we could praise. 44mins

The Fantastic Four (1994) 01.02.2015

A movie that many agree was made purely to hold onto the rights by the studio. This was painful to watch with nearly every aspect of it both disappointing and boring. Still, we had a great laugh reviewing this one. 44mins

The Ugly Truth 24.01.2015

A movie that seems to show that under the advice from of chauvinistic shallow man a woman who is stripped of personality and character can get the man she wants. There seemed to be very little rom and com in this movie. 33 mins

The Fountain 17.01.2015

Three stories all following a similar theme of one man's quest to save his beloved. The first story is captivating, the second is depressing and the third is nonsense. 38 mins.

Angels and Demons 11.01.2015

Better than the first but still got some major problems, this movie was at least enjoyable throughout. 38 mins

Black Christmas (1974) 27.12.2014

Based on a group of murders in Quebec in Canada. This horror is full of brilliant atmosphere and tense moments. A group of sorority girls are being picked off and a mysterious caller won't leave them alone. 38 mins   Credit for the record sound effects from: www.freesfx.co.uk

Scrooged 20.12.2014

A much younger Bill Murray plays as a very unpleasant TV executive who is visited by three very familiar ghosts. A great laugh from start to finish. 34 mins

Bicentennial Man 13.12.2014

A childhood favourite of mine, I hoped Andrew would see through it (fairly large) faults. A very simple movie with a fairly simple story. What you see is what you get in this case. 35 mins

Avatar - The Last Airbender 06.12.2014

This really is one of the worst movies we've seen in a long time and a very good follow on for last weeks movie. Both are awful is every single aspect. Also I KNOW BA SING SE IS NOT THE PLACE THAT THEY LEARNT WATERBENDING. I quickly picked up on this during post-production. 38mins

Dragonball Evolution 30.11.2014

One of the single worst films that we have seen in a long time. It horrendously fails as both an adaptation AND a stand-alone movie. Most if not all aspects of this movie are awful

Skyfall 22.11.2014

One of the few bond movies to delve into bonds history, this movie is a great action movie from start to finish with some great story and acting. 42 mins

13 Assassins 08.11.2014

In heinsight the movie was good but the style was not for me. A samuri epic of a small group against terrible odds.40 mins

Filth 01.11.2014

A movie that shares a strong connection with Danny Boyle's Trainspotting. Both stories are based off of novels written by Irvine Welsh. This movie really plays with your feelings and by the end you're not quite sure what to feel about the main protagonist Bruce Robertson. 40 mins

Re-Animator 25.10.2014

Loosely based on H.P. Lovecrafts story of a similar title "Herbert West - Reanimator" which is itself a tribute to the classic Frankenstein story. This movie is more funny than scary but a very good choice if you're after some cheesy story and acting. 48 mins

Rumble in the Bronx 18.10.2014

Fun from start to finish, this episode is more a fan boy chat about Jackie Chan. Don't worry we do eventually get on with the movie.36 mins.
