Truth Matters, Cayman Islands

In this sermon I focus on the doctrine of Assurance, primarily from Romans 8, as well as other texts and historical narratives in God's Word. I preached this sermon in the Sunday morning service, on August 19th 2018, at Ebenezer Baptist church, in Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:16-21; Psalm 19 & 119, Hebrews 1:1-2...these and other passages reveal to us what the Bible claims to be: the very words "from the mouth of God", as Jesus puts it, quoting Deutoronomy 8:3. The Bible is how God speaks to us today, for it is the very Word of God.

In this episode we move into Genesis chapter 4, and see that another fruit of our sinfulness is jealousy, which can lead to hatred and even murder...but by God's grace in Christ, we can live lives that are not ruled by sin, but are ruled by God. In this bonus Episode we conclude thinking a bit on the false idea that Jesus was ok with any form of sexual expression, other than heterosexual marriage union. Then jump into the lie of evolution, and why it's so clear that we can't belive in the Genesis account and evolution at the same time, but must accept the Genesis account as truth.

We consider the reality of shame and guilt, but also how we try to deny their existence, and redefine reality. God will be shown as true, however, and in our next episode we'll consider how he responds to our rejection of his will and denial of his righteousness.

We continue to consider what is commonly known as "the fall". The event which changed the nature and life of all humanity for the rest of our time in this world. It is in seeing this bad news that we start to feel our need for a Savior. Meditating on this is vital. God bless you, and come back to think more about this in episode 6!

We are moving on to see the goodness of God's order, which carries no shame with it, and makes for human flourishing. In this episode of Truth Nuggets we give some thought to God's purpose in displaying his glory through 2 distinct genders. The 2 genders form a 1 flesh union, the first true marriage, which is the foundation of the human race; we also see Adam naming all the animals; and to Adam and Eve existing in a world without shame.

The 2nd Episode in a Devotional Series. In this episode, which begins to focus on God's creation of mankind, we move from a consideration of God the Creator, and begin to briefly focus on the greatest part of all his creation. The only creatures made in his image: the human race.
