  We end our Hispanic Heritage Month reads this week with Silvia Moreno-Garcia's noir thriller Velvet Was the Night. Set in 1970s Mexico, this historical noir follows two unlikely anti-heroes in parallel trajectories as they search for the same missing woman for their own reasons. Our first book of the new season! We are kicking things off this season with our "Back to School" theme and diving right into Hamlet, by William Shakespeare. Well known, well loved, and most groan inducing for students everywhere, we'll be talking about our favorite scenes, quotes, and what we liked and didn't like about this tale where danger is everywhere and no one is safe.
