Travel Time

Taking the boys to Disneyland for the first time with a stay at Disneyland Hotel, and dining atTangeroa Terrace, Goofy's Kitchen, Bengal BBQ and  Big Thunder Ranch BBQ too!

Visiting Joshua Tree, California to see Joshua Tree National Park with our boys and with my sister's family.  Notes on our stay at Spin and Margie's Desert Hideaway and great breakfasts at Crossroads Cafe too.

Started and Ended our trip in Southern Califorrnia with San Diego - a visit to the zoo , Cabrillo National Monument and Sea World .  

Discussing a couple of trips to Sundance Trails Dude Ranch in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado as well as pre trip nights in Estes Park and Ft. Collins.  We chat about tips on getting there, where to stay the night before your week, and what to expect. 

Wrapping up our trip to Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton - what we didn't have time for that I'd want to be sure to do next time. 

Exploring Jenny Lake, Bradley and Taggert Lakes, Hiking and Jackson Hole as we wrap up our trip. Our float trip was on Barker-Ewing Float Trips, and they were fantastic!

Glacier is a hiker's paradise.  Its also a relaxation paradise.  It feels like you're far, far away from all of the normal every day things and in a place magical all on its own.  Its my favorite National Park of all and I've been to quite a few! We stayed at Many Glacier Hotel. 

Our last port on our Alaska cruise is Victoria.  Our short stay wasn't short on fun though! Check out the Royal BC Museum while you're there. 

We're talking Glaciers and Sitka today as we continue through areas and ports we visited on our Alaska cruise and take a Sitka Culture and National Park tour. 

Initial disappointment because our Helicopter trip to see sled dogs was cancelled due to fog turned into a good day of exploring Mendenhall Glacier and watching Humpback Whales ! 

Today my teenage son Jack visits to share his thoughts on what was his favorite port on the trip - Hoonah and Icy Strait Point.   We went on a Bear Search excursion and for this one used an outside vendor rather than the cruise ship's excursion and I'll share why that may be a good choice for your family. 

Our first port city on our Alaskan Cruise was Ketchikan .  Hear about our shore excursion to Misty Fjords - the largest intact rainforest in the US and the 2nd largest wilderness area in the US, Creek street and exploring Ketchikan.

A weekend in Vancouver before we embarked on an Alaskan Cruise on the Disney Wonder .  Take time to explore this wonderful city if you are leaving on a cruise from Vancouver - it is a great city!
