Transmusic Airwaves
Transmusic Airwaves is a journey beyond conventional radio boundaries. It encompasses various musical forms and styles loosely centered on “Progressive”, with attention to transitions that form cohesive sets of music. Ideally, it creates a context, an atmosphere, and conveys moods as listeners are guided through a musical spectrum. Transmusic Airwaves is the brainchild of Paul Ciminero, whose radio roots began in the 1970's at WKSU's late-night Fresh Air program. Transmusic began weekly podcasts in 2013 that continued until Paul's passing at the end of 2022. Afterwards, it expanded as a collab...

Episode 486: Transmusic Airwaves Episode #486 (NEW SHOW LENGTH) - October 21, 2022 - Paul Ciminero (host) Podcast 21.10.2022 2:11:22
NEW PROGRAM LENGTH BEGINS THIS WEEK! After over a decade, this week’s TRANSMUSIC AIRWAVES (Episode #486) will mark a significant change in the length of the program, as I’ve decided to reduce it by an hour so I can continue to bring you great ‘freeform’ podcasts in a timely manner. As I get older it’s become more difficult to make these programs up to my own high standards for the full three hours...
Episode 6: Transmusic Airwaves Presents: (from the Archive) Vicotin Popsicles Episode #6 on KUSF-In-Exile June 1, 2012 - Republished October 14, 2022 - Paul Ciminero (host) Podcast 14.10.2022 2:00:32
On this week’s TRANSMUSIC AIRWAVES I’ve decided to revisit my early programming from the past and make available a program from June 1, 2012 that was heard over the internet radio station KUSF-In-Exile in San Francisco. The program at the time was called Vicotin Popsicle’s and it’s ‘freeform’ concept was beginning to jell into what it would later become by combining new releases, various selected...

There’s playoff baseball in Cleveland with one of MLB’s youngest and most exciting teams taking center stage, a bustling local music scene, and carved pumpkins beginning to appear everywhere. I’ve got a gre...

On this week’s TRANSMUSIC AIRWAVES (Episode #484) I’ve got several special segments throughout the program guaranteed to snap those neurons in the back of your brain stem to attention. It all begins with NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS doing the Pink Floyd anthem, ‘Astronomy Domine,’ and serving it three different ways. First, of course, there’s Nick’s version, followed by other songs by PAVEME...

As we begin the first week of fall I’ve planned another great three hours of music on TRANSMUSIC AIRWAVES (Episode #483) to help you settle in for cooler weather, changing colors, and translucent skies. All of us who knew her were stunned by this news, and my heart goes out to her husband Jeff, their daughters, and their entire family. Lois was an integral part of our college radio team...
