Traditional Latin Mass Gospel Readings

Readings of the Gospel from the Traditional Latin Mass for every day. I am using “The Saint Andrew Daily Missal”. Imprimatur Jos Van Der Meersch 1945. I am also using “The Roman Missal (1962)” Most Reverend Fabian W Bruskewitz, DD, STD, Bishop of Lincoln. Saint readings are taken from “Saints for Young People for Every Day of the Year”. Imprimatur Richard Cardinal Cushing Archbishop of Boston 1963. For the descriptions, I am using the Online Douay Rheims Bible readings and read along. There are also good footnotes in this interpretation. Artwork: AI-generated, used with permission.

July 26, 2025. Gospel: Matt 13:44-52. St Anne, Mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary 26.07.2025

44  The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in a field. Which a man having found, hid it, and for joy thereof goeth, and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 45  Again the kingdom of heaven is like to...

20  Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, adoring and asking something of him. Tunc accessit ad eum mater filiorum Zebedaei cum filiis suis, adorans et petens aliquid ab eo.  21  Who said to her: What wilt thou? She saith to him: Say that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left, in thy kingdom. Qui dixit ei : Quid vis? Ait illi :...

44  The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in a field. Which a man having found, hid it, and for joy thereof goeth, and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.  24  And there was also a strife amongst them, which of them should seem to be the greater. 25  And he said to them: The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and they that have power over them, are called beneficent.

36  And one of the Pharisees desired him to eat with him. And he went into the house of the Pharisee, and sat down to meat. 37  And behold a woman that was in the city, a sinner, when she knew that he sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment; Et ecce mulie...

July 21, 2025. Gospel: Matt 5:3-19. St Lawrence of Brindisi, Doctor. 21.07.2025

13  You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt lose its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is good for nothing any more but to be cast out, and to be trodden on by men. Vos estis sal terrae. 14  You are the light of the world. A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid. V...

July 20, 2025. Gospel: Mark 8:1-9. Sixth Sunday after Pentecost. 20.07.2025

1  In those days again, when there was a great multitude, and had nothing to eat; calling his disciples together, he saith to them: In diebus illis iterum cum turba multa esset, nec haberent quod manducarent, convocatis discipulis, ait illis :  2  I have compassion on the multitude, for behold they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat. Misereor super turbam : quia ecce jam tr...

1  And after these things the Lord appointed also other seventy-two: and he sent them two and two before his face into every city and place whither he himself was to come. 2  And he said to them: The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers a...

July 18, 2025. Gospel: John 15:12-16. St Camillus, De Lellis, Confessor 18.07.2025

12  This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you. 13  Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14  You are my friends, if you do the things that I command you. Vos amici mei estis, si fec...

July 17, 2025. Gospel: Matt 5:20-24. Feria. 17.07.2025

20  For I tell you, that unless your justice abound more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 21  You have heard that it was said to them of old: Thou shalt not kill. And whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the ju...

27  And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman from the crowd, lifting up her voice, said to him: Blessed is the womb that bore thee, and the paps that gave thee suck. 28  But he said: Yea rather, blessed are they who hear the word of...

July 15, 2025. Gospel: Luke 12:35-40. St Henry, Emperor, Confessor 15.07.2025

35  Let your loins be girt, and lamps burning in your hands. Sint lumbi vestri praecincti, et lucernae ardentes in manibus vestris,  36  And you yourselves like to men who wait for their lord, when he shall return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open to him immediately. et vos similes hominibus exspectantibus dominum suum quando revertatur a nuptiis : ut, cum venerit e...

43  You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thy enemy. 44  But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you: Ego autem dico vobis : Diligite inimicos vestros, benefacite his qui oderunt vos, et orate pro pers...

Adhuc eo loquente ad turbas, ecce mater ejus et fratres stabant foras, quaerentes loqui ei.  47  And one said unto him: Behold thy mother and thy brethren stand without, seeking thee. Dixit autem ei quidam : Ecce mater tua, et fratres tui foris stant quaerentes te.  48  But he a...

15  Amen I say to you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall not enter into it. Amen dico vobis : Quisquis non receperit regnum Dei velut parvulus, non intrabit in illud.  16  And embracing them, and laying his hands upon them, he blessed them. Et complexans eos, et imponens manus super illos, benedicebat eos.  17  And when he was gone forth into the way, a certa...

28  And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29  Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without yo...
