Trading with Jesus

Today we’re anchored in First Epistle of Peter 5:8, “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” And this hits especially hard on a Friday.

Today we’re anchored in Second Epistle to the Corinthians 5:21, “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” This verse is powerful because it shows what I like to call the great exchange.

Today we’re anchored in Gospel of Mark 13:33, “Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come.” This is all about awareness and readiness.

Today we’re anchored in Book of Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” This verse is real because it calls all of us out. Nobody is exempt.

Today we’re anchored in Gospel of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” This verse is the foundation. If you really understand this, it changes how you move in everything, including trading.

Today we’re anchored in Gospel of Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” And this is all about how you live, not just what you say.

Today we’re anchored in First Epistle to the Corinthians 3:16, “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” And this is one of those verses that can really shift how you move if you truly understand it.

Today we’re anchored in Book of Psalms 145:18, “The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” And this verse is simple, but it hits deep. It reminds us that God isn’t distant. He’s not hard to reach. He’s near.

Today we’re anchored in Acts of the Apostles 4:12, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” This is a bold statement. Clear, direct, no confusion. Salvation is found in Jesus alone.

Today we’re anchored in Romans 10:17, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” This verse is simple, but it’s powerful. It tells us exactly how faith is built.

Today we’re anchored in Gospel of John 5:24, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” This verse is all about assurance. It’s Jesus making it clear that this isn’t something uncertain or distant, it’s something secure.

Today we’re anchored in Gospel of Matthew 28:19, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” This is Jesus giving a mission. Not a suggestion, not something optional, this is the assignment.

Today we’re anchored in Gospel of Matthew 28:6, “He is not here; for He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” This is the moment everything changed. What looked like defeat turned into victory. The cross wasn’t the end, the empty tomb proved it.

Today we’re anchored in First Epistle of John 3:16, “By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.” This verse gives us the real definition of love. Not feelings, not words, not just saying the right things, but action and sacrifice.

Today we’re anchored in Book of Isaiah 53:5, “He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” What’s crazy about this verse is it was written hundreds of years before Jesus, yet it describes exactly what He would go through. This wasn’t random, this was always the plan.

Today we’re anchored in Gospel of John 16:33, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” And I love this because Jesus keeps it real. He doesn’t say you might have trouble, He says you will. That means challenges aren’t a sign that something is wrong, they’re part of the process.

Today we’re anchored in Book of Hebrews 12:2, “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” This verse is all about where your focus is and how you handle the process.

Today we’re anchored in Gospel of Matthew 20:28, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Jesus is completely flipping the script on what greatness looks like. The world says the goal is to rise up, gain status, and have everything work for you. But Jesus shows us that real greatness is found in humility, service, and sacrifice.
