This week we dive back into Romans and spend the next 7 weeks looking at the power of the gospel in the Christian life in Romans 6-8. This week we particularly look at what it means to be united with Christ.

The focus of today's message will be Romans chapter 5 v 8 - But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. In this we see God's love, our sin, and Christ's sacrifice. Today, will also be an opportunity for us to briefly review Romans chapter 1-5 in as we prepare for starting up our Romans series from chapter 6 next week.

Our belonging series has given us a vision of belonging in God’s family and some gospel resources to pursue it. And yet belonging can hurt for all kinds of reasons; the gap between vision and reality, when people let us down, when we don’t have capacity and more. We feel drawn to all kinds of belongings in the world. Like forces that pull at us. In this sermon we explore how we live in the world but are not of the world as we depend on the living and eternal word of God.

Jesus welcomes sinners to his table and we want all people to feel welcome to church, but it’s faith and repentance that mark true belonging to him.

This sermon explores how we are to think about culture. We often find our belonging in various cultural expressions. As Christians our fundamental identity is in Christ and not in culture and yet because people matter culture matters. Mike will unpack 1 Corinthians 9 to explore this and what it means for our church to both embrace and critique various cultures.

We belong to Jesus together. Jesus shows us how to love and serve one another in as he cleans his disciples feet and commands us to love one another. Mike and Nat will explore a few of the large categories of "one another-ing" in the new testament as we explore how to practice this at TAC.

At the heart of belonging is being known and loved. God not only made us - He knows us, more deeply than we know ourselves. In the safety of being fully known by Him, we grow in knowing God, knowing ourselves, and knowing one another. We are a people shaped by His love, defined by His story, and held together in Christ - until, together, we see our Saviour face to face.

This week we start our belonging series with an introductory sermon looking at what it means to be made in God's image: We are made to belong to God and in community with others.

Have you ever met someone who was very well known, but you had no idea who they were? Today, we will meet two people who were followers of Jesus, but didn’t quite see him for who He truly is. Seeing Jesus for who He truly is changes everything.

Celebrating new life in Jesus.

This sermon reflects on the weight of sin and Jesus death for us.

As Jesus approaches the climax of His ministry, He shows himself himself humbly as the servant King. Though the crowds celebrate Him they do not truly see Him for who He is nor what is needed to win their salvation.

This passage shows us the heart of God to seek us out and the life transformation that happens when we encounter the Lord Jesus.

Following Jesus calls for a whole hearted, whole of life response that demonstrates a commitment to the mission and priorities of Jesus.

As Jesus continues on his way to Jerusalem we see an episode where he encounters Samaritan lepers and heals them so that they will be clean to approach God. Jesus is for all people and heals us of our greatest need (sin) so that we can approach God.

Jesus calls us to be faithful in the little things.

Jesus came to seek and save the lost.

The kingdom of God is like a glorious banquet that we're invited to. God's grace compels us to open our lives to all in the hope that they too will find grace. How tragic it is to ignore the invite!

In teaching us to pray, Jesus reveals that prayer is essentially relational, the way we respond to a loving and generous Father God.
