March 28, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) | Three-Year Anniversary of the Rosary Network 28.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: With humility and merciful love, on this Tuesday of the Fifth Week of Lent, we pray today’s Holy Rosary from Cambridge, Massachusetts. All of our dysfunction, cruelty, and sins are revealed on that cross. As Bishop Barron writes, on the cross of Jesus, we meet our own sin, but we also meet the divine mercy that has taken that sin upon himself in order to swallow it up. Ave M...

March 27, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) | Three-Year Anniversary of the Rosary Network 27.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: In yesterday's reading (John 11:1-45) about the extraordinary miracle of Lazarus' resurrection, the sisters Martha and Mary asked the Lord Jesus, "Master, the one you love is ill." When Jesus heard this, He said, "This illness is not to end in death but is for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it." Through His extreme...

March 26, 2023, Fifth Sunday of Lent, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) | Three-Year Anniversary of the Rosary Network 26.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: This fifth Sunday of Lent is the final Sunday of Lent before the beginning of Holy Week. When parishioners go to Mass today, they will see that their church might have covered crosses and images. They will remain covered until the end of the Celebration of the Lord’s Passion on Good Friday. And today, the Catholic Church invites us to turn our attention to the reality of the...

March 25, 2023, Solemnity of the Annunciation, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) | Three-Year Anniversary of the Rosary Network 26.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. We commemorate the great mystery of the Incarnation, the most sublime event in history when God assumed human nature in the womb of the Virgin Mary. It was at the hour of midnight when the Most Holy Mary was alone and absorbed in prayer that the Archangel Gabriel appeared before her. The Archangel asked her, in the name...

March 24, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) | Three-Year Anniversary of the Rosary Network 24.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Our lives are being overrun by noise and distractions. To that, we add our self-centered lifestyle. The secular society we inhabit encourages us to reconnect with ourselves and follow non-sense practices that ultimately lead to misery. We are promised a fulfilling and purposeful life. But the reality is often the opposite. These empty promises, or even outright lies, along w...

March 23, 2023, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) | Three-Year Anniversary of the Rosary Network 23.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: This Sunday, we read from the Old Testament (1 Samuel 16:1b, 6-7, 10-13a) about how the Lord encouraged Samuel not to judge people based on their appearance. “Not as man sees does God see, because man sees the appearance but the Lord looks into the heart.” In our modern society, people who embody behaviors opposite to those of the Holy Spirit are often portrayed as role mode...

March 22, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) | Three-Year Anniversary of the Rosary Network 22.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: In today’s powerful reading (John 5:17-30), God speaks through His Son, urging humanity to abandon all doubts and offenses against the Creator. The Lord Jesus said:  “Whoever does not honor the Son, does not honor the Father who sent Him. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes in the One who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has pa...

March 21, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) | Three Year Anniversary of the Rosary Network 21.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Not many people in the Scriptures are presented as “a righteous man,” as St. Joseph, the spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the guardian of the Redeemer. Joseph, son of David, was one of us. He was born with the original sin. Later, he would be fully transformed by the grace of God. An angel of the Lord told him that Mary would bear a son, Jesus and that he would “save hi...

March 20, 2023, Solemnity of St. Joseph, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 20.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, guardian of the Redeemer, and our spiritual father. As we say in the prayer, to him God entrusted His only Son, in him, Mary placed her trust, and with him Christ became man. He played a critical role in God’s plan of salvation from sin for humanity. Demons flee when they see St. Joseph. Along with Ma...

March 19, 2023, Fourth Sunday of Lent, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 19.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: This Fourth Sunday of Lent is known as  Laetare  Sunday,  for the word  laetare,  rejoice in Latin. It’s a foretaste of Easter joy. Today, when we are in the middle of Lent, a meaningful joy born of our fruitful life in Christ should come among the faithful. The Gospel’s reading ( John 9:1-41)  narrates the healing of the ‘man born blind’. It is the passage from the darkness...

March 18, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 18.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: We pray today's Joyful Mysteries from St. Michael the Archangel Parish, in Greenwich, Connecticut. Fr. Richard Murphy leads the Holy Rosary. In the reading today (Lk 18:9-14), Lord Jesus says:  “Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” The Son of God addressed the parable of two people who went up to the temple area t...

March 17, 2023, St. Patrick Memorial Day, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 17.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: We honor today St. Patrick, the fifth-century bishop and saint who brought Christianity to Ireland, converting the whole country from their pagan gods to the one true faith. And Ireland, despite being a small country, has played a large role in spreading Christianity throughout the world. In his attributed autobiography, called  Confessions, and written in all humility, St....

March 16, 2023, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 16.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: In the Gospel today (Lk 11:14-23), Christ Jesus says: "Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters." The Son of God is crystal clear. Whoever does not help Him in His mission to gather citizens into His kingdom is guilty of scattering them. That means that the Pharisees, in their conspiracy to destroy Jesus, have put themselves against...

March 15, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 15.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Only the living water of the Holy Spirit — that graciously descends upon the faithful, as we learn in the third Glorious Mystery today— can quench man’s thirst for the infinite, as Benedict XVI once said. Man is able to give affection and care to his fellow humans but never endless joy and peace since these fruits belong to the Divine. As John the Evangelist said — and we re...

March 14, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 14.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: A self-centered mentality distances us from God, and this separation causes dissatisfaction. To receive God’s gifts of joy, peace, and love, we must approach Him with humility and give ourselves to Him. Our secular society encourages us to focus on connecting and reconnecting with ourselves — and we see that in practices like yoga and mindfulness. Results fall short. Happine...

March 13, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 13.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: We are given the gift and the grace of the Christian faith to persevere in spite of adversity. Christ is the living water; the only one who removes our thirst. Everything else is secondary. Looking elsewhere for solutions is a mistake. The life of the Samaritan woman ( St. John 4:5-42)  at the well changed completely when she discovered Jesus Christ. The woman had “five...

March 12, 2023, Third Sunday of Lent, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 12.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, the faithful marvel at the dialogue between Jesus Christ and the Samaritan woman (John 4:5-15, 19-26, 39-42). We see the humanity and divinity of Jesus, full man and full God, in full display. Jesus tells her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, `Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water." Jesus...

March 11, 2023, Prodigal Son, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 11.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: The story of the Prodigal Son is featured in the Gospel today (Luke 15:1-3, 11-32). It’s the story of each human life: God’s mercy stands on one side and the unfaithfulness of man on the other. “Father, I have sinned.” Penance alone can save us. Our Father welcomes us with mercy. The sin and its eternal punishment are forgiven. The Father receives us again as His children an...

March 10, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 10.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Mankind's resistance to God’s goodness and grace is evidence that we are still affected by the original sin. The parable of the landowner who planted a vineyard and leased it to tenants (Matt 21:33-46) — that we read today — highlights the unfortunate reality of our fallen world, which is controlled by the Evil One. Despite the Father's desire to save us from our sins, we co...

March 9, 2023, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 09.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: The contemplation of the Transfiguration, which we meditate on today, reveals to us what will happen when we leave this earthly life and behold Christ in His glory, welcoming us into His everlasting, glorious kingdom. As we approach April 9th, the solemnity of the Resurrection, we are reminded that the end of our earthly journey is the resurrection, which is a gateway to a m...

March 8, 2023, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 08.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Jesus Christ provided us through the mother of the sons of Zebedee — John and James — an important rule of life, as we read today (Mt 20:17-2): "Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave. Just so, the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many."...

March 7, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 07.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Jesus Christ spoke at that time about the hypocrisy of the scribes and the Pharisees (Mt 23:1-12). “Do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry and lay them on people's shoulders, but they will not lift a finger to move them. All...

March 6, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 06.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: St. Philip Neri provides us with insight into how the mind of God operates: “Cast yourself into the arms of God and be very sure that if He wants anything of you, He will fit you for the work and give you strength.” In essence, this means that we must first place our trust in Christ Jesus. Secondly, we must listen to Him both in prayer and through His actions. Finally, we mu...

March 5, 2023, Second Sunday of Lent, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 05.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: On this second Sunday of Lent, the three principal apostles — and all of the faithful today — had a vision of Christ in His glory during the episode of the Transfiguration (St. Matthew 17:1-9). It was given in order to strengthen to face the trials and the temptations. On this second Sunday of Lent, the three principal apostles — and all of the faithful today — had a vision...

March 4, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 04.03.2023

Friends of the Rosary: The invitation to conversion that the Church insists on this Lent is an incentive to return to God, embracing the merciful love of the Father and the Son. Converting means entrusting oneself fully to the Lord. Receiving the gift of accessing God's infinite goodness is divine grace. We cannot accomplish anything by ourselves. As St. Paul wrote (Phil 3: 12), "to convert is to...
