January 22, 2024, Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 22.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children. Parishes, schools, or religious formation programs may celebrate the Mass for the dignity of human life, giving thanks to God for the gift of human life. It's a simple truth: It is better to be alive than never have been in existence. As a result, we worship and love the Giver of this gift. This love...

January 21, 2024, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 21.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: When Jesus passes by, we have to respond. The first four apostles — Peter, Andrew, James, and John — immediately responded to the call of the Lord, as we read today in the Gospel (Mark 1:14–20). Jesus is passing by every day. He never ceases calling us by our names, because He wants our healing on Earth and our salvation for eternity.  "Repent, and believe in the gospel...

January 20, 2024, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 20.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: The message of salvation has been historically spread by the Holy Spirit working through the apostles, saints, and the faithful in the Church. This proves the power of God. Had the message of salvation been spread and promulgated by powerful men, the cry would soon go up on all sides and people would say: "This religion is the invention of the upper class; it is a cleve...

January 19, 2024, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 19.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Thousands of Americans gathered today in Washington, DC for the 51st annual March for Life, the second in a post-Roe America. The faithful showed support for the right to life — a life-affirming culture that respects the inherent dignity of all human life. The theme this year ‘With every woman, for every child’ focused on the need to care for both mother and child during the...

January 18, 2024, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 18.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: This week in the Gospel we see Christ Jesus curing many, including a man with a withered hand (Mark 3:1–6) as well those who had diseases and were pressing to touch him (Mk 3:7-12). The unclean spirits were falling before him shouting, "You are the Son of God." These healings signified the arrival of the kingdom of God. His person was an entirely new way of orderin...

January 17, 2024, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 17.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Tomorrow, Thursday, January 18, 2024, is the  National Prayer Vigil for Life . It is held on the eve of the March for Life each January at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. Thousands of pilgrims and participants pray for an end to abortion and a greater respect for all human life. The 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. prayer events on J...

January 16, 2024, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 16.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: "Glorify God in your body," as the Holy Spirit tells us through St. Paul in his letter to the Corinthians (1 Cor 6:13c-15a, 17-20), as we read yesterday. The first teaching emphasizes avoiding immorality, particularly sexual immorality. "Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within us," St. Paul wrote. Dark forces in our society have promoted evil ideol...

January 15, 2024, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 15.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: We pray for the end of racism and discrimination. Today in the U.S., on the third Monday in January, is the federal holiday of civil rights leader Luther King Jr Day. It honors the life and legacy of this iconic figure of the civil rights movement during the 1950s and 1960s. King’s fight against discrimination and segregation changed American history and gave hope to million...

January 14, 2024, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 14.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Today’s Gospel ( St. John 1:35-42)  gives an account of the vocation of the first four Apostles who found Christ Jesus, the Lamb of God, and decided to follow him. This event was the beginning of vocations, a movement of holiness that will last until the end of the world. The Church of Christ consists of men with a sinful human nature, yet it is assisted by divine aid. Anoth...

January 13, 2024, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 13.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: In today’s Gospel (Mark 2:13–17), Christ Jesus calls Matthew to become his disciple. "As he passed by, he saw Levi, son of Alphaeus, sitting at the customs post. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”And he got up and followed Jesus. While he was at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners sat with Jesus and his disciples;for there were many who followed him." The Lord jus...

January 12, 2024, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 12.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Evil or the devil camouflages well in its environment. We notice this in our secular society. In the Book of Genesis, it was the infamous figure of the serpent. That animal insidiousness was unnoticed by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Our progenitors thought the serpent was benign. Pope Francis warns that "the devil is a master tactician and shapeshifter able to in...

January 11, 2024, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 11.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Soon, we will begin Lent, a season that commemorates the forty days Jesus spent in the desert, enduring temptations. There, Our Lord did not engage in dialogue with the Evil One. He responded using the words of Holy Scripture, the word of God. Christ never conversed with the devil; He chased him away. "When temptation comes, never talk. Close the door, close the window,...

January 10, 2024, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 10.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: In today’s reading (Mk 1:29-39), we see Jesus curing many who were ill or possessed by demons. The Son of God went throughout Galilee preaching and driving out demons. As we read on Tuesday, these demons knew who was Jesus (Mk 1:21-28). But He was not permitting them to speak because they knew Him. “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us?...

January 9, 2024, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 09.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: The Holy Virgin said in one of her revelations that with prayer and fasting, we can detain wars and natural catastrophes. The Lord listens to our prayers. In the New Testament, several passages highlight this. “We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will.”  (John 9:31) “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ea...

January 8, 2024, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 08.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: We always should have our eyes very open to see what God is up to. The three kings from the East — the magi — evoke us the importance of spiritual alertness as they watched the night sky for divine signs. Once they saw the star, they moved, teaching us to move. They showed us to expect opposition when we walk the divine path. They spoke to Herod about the birth of the new Ki...

January 7, 2024, Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 07.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Today, January 7th, the Catholic Church traditionally celebrates the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord — the second epiphany, or manifestation, of the Lord when the entire Holy Trinity intervened. In some places, this solemnity is transferred to Monday, January 8th. The Baptism of the Lord marks the end of the Christmas season. Then, ordinary time starts, until Lent, which th...

January 6, 2024, Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 06.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Today’s Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord commemorates the visit of the magi to worship the baby Jesus as narrated in the Gospel of Matthew: "Behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, ‘Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star at its rising and have come to do him homage.’" The word “epiphany” comes from the Greek epiphainen , which...

January 5, 2024, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 05.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Most people do not know what they fundamentally want in life, or if they do, they lack the courage and determination to pursue a clear goal. Many spend their earthly existence looking for solutions and end up frustrated. Reflecting on this, Christ Jesus asked two of John the Baptist’s disciples (John 1:35–42), "What are you looking for?" This is an existential ques...

January 4, 2024, Memorial of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 04.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Today, on the eleventh day of Christmas, we celebrate the Memorial of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first native-born American to be canonized a saint. Born in New York in 1774, Elizabeth Ann Bayley married William Seton and they had five children. After her husband's death from tuberculosis, she converted from the Episcopal faith to Catholicism. She founded the American...

January 3, 2024, Feast of The Most Holy Name of Jesus, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 03.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Today, on the tenth day of Christmas, we honor the Most Holy Name of Jesus, which means Savior. Moreover, the month of January has traditionally been dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus. This devotion to the Holy Name is deeply rooted in the Sacred Scriptures, especially in the Acts of the Apostles. God Himself gave this name to express His mission and the purpose of His exi...

January 2, 2024, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 02.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: When the fullness of time came , the Father sent Christ Jesus, so that we might receive adoption as sons, as St. Paul reminded us in this letter to the Galatians (Gal 4:4-7) yesterday. This way, the Lord saved us from the slavery of sin. "So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son then also an heir, through God." "As proof that you are sons, God sent...

January 1, 2024, Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 01.01.2024

Friends of the Rosary: Today, on New Year's Day, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, our Lady's greatest title. The title “Mother of God” goes back to the third or fourth century. The Greek term Theotokos (“The God-bearer”) was officially consecrated as Catholic doctrine at the Council of Ephesus in 431. It became the first Marian dogma. At the end of the Council of...

December 31, 2023, Feast of the Holy Family, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 31.12.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Today, on the Seventh Day of Christmas, we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus. The Church instituted this feast to present the Holy Family as the patron and model of all Christian families. Today is also the feast day of every family. The devotion to the Holy Family was born in Bethlehem. The shepherds went to adore the Child Jesus and, at the...

December 30, 2023, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 30.12.2023

Friends of the Rosary: At Christmas, we learn to be witness to the truth. To be a witness is to be a martyr. As soon as Christ was liturgically born, the Church presented St. Stephen, St. John, and the Holy Innocents, as witnesses. We all are born in baptism to become Christ. At that moment, our eternity begins. We are compelled to be witnesses every hour and every day. Only in Heaven, we will com...

December 29, 2023, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 29.12.2023

Friends of the Rosary: Professing the Christian faith demands the heroism of the martyrs. On the day after the solemnity of Christmas, we celebrated today the feast of St. Stephen, the first martyr who was stoned in Jerusalem during the first persecution against the nascent Church. St. Stephen was the first to follow in the steps of Christ with martyrdom. Like the divine Master, he died forgiving...
