For the sake of a single penny a valuable gift was needlessly destroyed.  This is what happens when we needless hold onto a grudge and destroy a friendship.  We need to let go of the things that in the long run are not very valuable so we can keep the things that have lasting significance.

God asks us to trust Him, even when we can't clearly see our landing sight. He instructs us to give to others when mentally we think we ought to be keeping for ourselves to make sure we have enough. But trust is all about taking action because we are confident that God will catch us.

You can make a difference even though you are just one person.  The gladiators in Rome used to fight to the death in the Colosseum for the delight of the crowd until one person protested and made a difference.  The terrible atrocity stopped because of the small voice of one committed person.

A young military recruit was fleeing from the battle when he was stopped by an officer.   After he was threatened with court marshall and execution, the young soldier pleaded for one more chance.  His funny answer to the officer gives us a telling tale.  We all recognize that leaders must be planners and strategists, but they also must be near those serving on the front lines;...

"In God we trust" is more than a slogan on our money; it must be a life-style we live if we hope to solve the complex issues we face as a nation.  Our founding fathers often sought divine guidance as they put together the structure for our growing nation.  Separation of church and state was never a idea to those who structured our country.
