To The Max Sports

Well, we took an impromptu week off and man did stuff happen. NCAA brackets are in tatters, hopes are dashed, but the world is ok, as Lamar Jackson and Aaron Rodgers still dominate the airwaves. We talk some initial baseball thoughts and our hopes on the new rules. Then we end with some trivia. We went a little long, but for a slow news week we had a bunch to say.

Ok, March Madness is upon us. You can find out brackets on our YouTube Channel at 14:00 (Drew), 14:40 (Max) and 15:20 (Bob). We also talk a bit before we get to the brackets about Free Agency and the sort of breaking news that Aaron Rodgers is still the center of our universe.

So, Max has a flat tire. Well, by the time you read this, we think it might be fixed. So we go Max less. Drew goes over his impressions from the NFL Combine, or as Bob likes to call it, The Underwear Olympics.

Wow, did we go through alot of real estate. We start talking about boxing,. Yep, boxing. And then we meander into draft speculation, small quarterbacks and running back replaceability. We end talking about why baseball has an attendance problem and is it really the length of the game, or other things.

Randy Hepner, Campus Field Ministry Director for Athletes in action ( https://athletesinaction.org ) joins the show. Randy and Drew go way back so they reconnect a little and Randy talks about their ministry work with young athletes. Then we talk some XFL, and we still don't care about Aaron Rodgers

This is always a weird time of the year. Superbowl is over, basketball is slowly moving towards MArch Madness and then NBA playoffs, but it feels like a let down. So the football gods give us the XFL. We talk the Superbowl, how we think the last four will fare next year.

Ok, Maybe it was really Brooklyn. We spend alot of time going over the big game. Bob apparently has a whole bunch of inner hatred towards the Eagles. Max and Drew go with the Eagles to win, though. Interesting matchups all the way around. And then we talk about the silly prop bets that we all laugh at. What is green Gatorade anyway?

We over react to the conference championships and go blow by blow like every fan of an NFL team, and hyper analyze too many small things. Then we go over board on our emotional statements, and we might be wrong, but we are probably right.

Of course we talk about how the Cowboys didn't show their best side. Man, another season, another debacle at the end. And then the Bengals seem to get no disrespect. Of course Bob goes with the 49ers, but Max and Drew go with the Eagles. And then they both go with the Bengals, but Bob goes with the Chiefs.

Well, the Cowboys certainly bounced back from a humiliating showing at the Commanders and heaped all that humiliation on their place kicker. We go through the Divisional Round and then we get to the most storied NFC Playoff Rivalry. We all agree that the 49ers win the game, but only Bob thinks the Niners cover the spread. Wow, what happened with the ‘Boys this past weekend? And man, Georgia is darn good. Sorry TCU, you really outperformed all expectations but Georgia is that good. We do revisit the Slap League quickly and then we walk through the entire Wildcard round with our thoughts on the games. Go Purdy!!!

Wow, what a first week in 2023 for sports. Damar Hamlin suffered a major cardiac event in a Monday Night game and we all paused. He has since regained consciousness and is talking with his family and team mates. His first words after regaining consciousness... "Did We Win?". We spend some time talking about what the playoff picture looks like for the Cowboys. And then we talk a little adjacent to...

We talk some Cowboys after last night's game, and then we digress into a discussion of next steps for the GOAT. We finish up doing picks and talking CFP Semis.

We talk NFL, Cowboys collapse, and a few other things as we roll into the holiday season.

Drew is on a bit of a vacation, so James joins us to regale us with Eagles dominance ahead of an NFC showdown on Christmas Eve Day. Max defends his Cowboys and Bob sits back and enjoys his new rookie, Brock. Then we do some NFL picks, with Drew calling in from Florida.

Well, all the debate can be over, unless you are Alabama. The 4 CFP teams are set. Sorry, USC, you had one job. TCU loses but still gets in. Bob and Drew agree that TCA and OSU may be nothing more than fodder. We talk some football, with the 49ers moving on to Mr. Irrelevant, Brock Purdy. But it may be the one team that can still win at a high level with their QB3.

We sit down for a special episode. Well, it's our regular episode, which we had to record a few days early because of our national gorge-fest. You eat your Turkey, we got your picks, both for this weekend, err. Holiday, and for the NFC playoffs. In all seriousness, thank you for listening, and watching. We are very thankful to you for providing some headspace for us to worm into.

Drew visited a bar on a Sunday and watched ALL the games. He had some thoughts on them. Max drops some thoughts on his Cowboys and then we talk about the going rate for a "session" with Flightline. Great life for that young man ... errr .... horse.

We start talking about the current state of the Spurs. Maybe they are fun to watch and they will lose. Drew almost pronounces Victor's name correctly. We watch some Houston fans embarrass themselves during the World Series Celebration. Then we talk about TCU and their fourth ranking and whether it will last. We pick NFL games again and then we end with trivia.

We talk some CFP standings. Why do they do this to us, or are they just giving us stuff to talk about. We touch upon Josh Primo's release and then we pick NFL games. Drew is pulling ahead.

Drew wants more baseball and goes all in on "get off my lawn" with the Dodgers getting knocked out in a best of 5. We then go deep into the inner squabbles ... err ... workings of the elite billionaire's club of NLF owners. Bob and Max went 2-1 last week, and if you are rolling with us, you are making money.

We review the sacks that got called poorly. Brady gets lightly put to bed and its roughing. Carr gets strip sacked and its roughing. Have we taken this just a bit far. We roll through the prime time games again, and we take on the week of NCAA Football as well. What a weekend of College Football ahead of us, though Bob brings out the hate train on the Pac 12. We are sorry!

Fan gets on field for his super public gender reveal and gets body slammed by Wagner. Fan was faster than security but not faster than Wagner. It's a girl, by the way. MLB Playoffs in the expanded era are upon us and we make our picks. We pick some NFL games and are doing ok, but slacking off from week 1. And we absolutely suck at trivia.

Fan does a gender reveal at the Rams game and gets smothered by Wagner from the Rams. But it's a girl, apparently. College football looks interesting as Georgia almost pukes on themselves and Alabama takes nr 1. We pick some NFL games and then we go 0-3 in baseball trivia. Oh, the humanity.
