As John the Baptist continues to give reasons as to why Jesus must increase, he makes the statement that Jesus affirms that God is true.

We continue to look at the reasons that John the Baptist gives as to why Jesus is to increase and reason number two is, Jesus speaks the word of God.

John Baptist reveals why Jesus is to be the one that is to increase. And the first reason is, "Jesus is from heaven".

Today we take a look at the issue that arose among the disciples of John the Baptist and how John responded with humility.

When John the Baptist made the statement "He must increase, and I must decrease", John was making a tremendous statement regarding humility. And as a result we have a text that teaches the "Attitude of Humility". Today Pastor David Carns sets the scene for this narrative as we see the overlapping of the ministries of Jesus and John the Baptist.

Jesus makes himself known to Nicodemus as "The Light". And as we will find there are some that hate the Light and there are others that love the Light.

There are those that believe that they are living in a time that God is weighing their good works against their bad and that in the future God will cry out a verdict. Yet, scripture teaches that a future verdict is not going to be made but a verdict has already been made, a verdict by the way that can be reversed by placing faith in Jesus.

Jesus shares with Nicodemus that he did not come to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through him.

After shocking Nicodemus with the statement that God will save whoever believes, Jesus explains this for Nicodemus.

The shocking truth is made to Nicodemus that eternal life is for "Whoever" believes.

In the text today we see that Jesus makes it very clear to Nicodemus that one must believe in Messiah for salvation.

Jesus tells Nicodemus that true faith in Jesus does something that works could never do and that is faith brings about a changed life for all to see.

Even though there will be those times that someone will say no to the Gospel, the Christian continues to share.

The conversation between Nicodemus and Jesus has two parts. Part one focuses on the sovereignty of God and part two focuses on belief. Today David takes us to the second part of the conversation as Jesus brings up the unbelief of Nicodemus.

We continue to see how the Holy Spirit of God works in eternal life as our seal and our guarantee.

David takes us into a study regarding the convincing power of the Spirit of God.

As we continue this study into the doctrine of regeneration we look at the "How" and the "Why" of regeneration.

When Jesus said to Nicodemus in John 3:3, "Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God", he was teaching the doctrine of regeneration. At this point we take time to look into this doctrine by going to James 1.

Jesus takes Nicodemus to school and teaches The teacher of Israel what scripture says about eternal life.

We look at the beginning of the conversation between Nicodemus and Jesus.

We continue to look at this man by the name of Nicodemus, a Pharisee who desired to speak with Jesus.

We begin a look at a piece of scripture that many believe is the most important scripture in all the bible. This is a look at the encounter between Nicodemus and Jesus. And in this text we find that works will never save a person.

The Apostle John continues to prove the deity of Jesus by showing that Jesus is omniscient and specifically that Jesus knows what is in man.

Early on in John's gospel, the Apostle has proven the deity of Jesus through the testimony of others and also by the miracles of Jesus. At this point in the text John now proves the deity of Jesus through the omniscience of Jesus, that Jesus knows all things. And specifically in this text we see that Jesus knows all that is to come.

Jesus drives out the vendors and the money changers at the temple. At the same time Jesus exhibits a wonderful zeal for the Father, a zeal that every believer can have.
