In the final message from our Foundations series for the 2023 Fall semester, we analyzed what Genesis 2 has to tell us about the initial home of the first man - the Garden of Eden - and the command given to the man in the garden: to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We then drew some basic principles from the text for our lives that pointed us to our need for a Second Adam.

Right in the middle of Genesis 2, we come face-to-face with a very counter-cultural reality: work is a good thing. In the sixth message of our "Foundations" series from Genesis 1-3, we discussed the nature of work, the danger of the sluggish life, and the way followers of Jesus should undertake their work.

In Genesis 2:1-3, we are told that God rested on the seventh day after finishing His work in creation. In the fifth message of our "Foundations" series, we launched from this text into a journey across the Bible to learn about the importance of rest within the biblical worldview.

Who are we? In many ways, it seems that mankind has forgotten the answer to this question. Thankfully, though, the Bible provides immense clarity in response to our cultural confusion. We are excited to study the first three chapters of Genesis in secondary chapel for the 2023-2024 school year! For our last secondary chapel of the 2022-2023 school year, Mr. Abbett gave a final address to the students, and then Mr. Hunter concluded our Colossians series by recapping what we have learned and taking a look at Colossians 4:2-6.
