Episode 68 - Joe 04.01.2021

Okay I need to set the record straight right away: we apparently did the 2013 Nicolas Cage movies out of order. It should have gone The Frozen Ground, The Croods, then Joe. Either way, we we're back on track by watching Joe (2013), which was another out-of-nowhere surprisingly good film. This podcast, and honestly this whole movie, rightfully focuses a lot on a brilliant supporting actor - the lat...

Episode 67 - The Frozen Ground 28.12.2020

For the last podcast of 2020 (good riddance - AMIRITE?!?!), Hanna and Steve talk about a surprisingly excellent movie: The Frozen Ground (2013). Based on a true story it tells the tale of Nic Cage hunting John Cusack. Seriously, this movie benefits from going to extreme lengths to film on location and depict actual events. Listen this week as we talk about this and more...such as Brie Larson and h...

Episode 66 - The Croods 21.12.2020

Just in time for the release of The Croods 2, this week we talk about The Croods 1 (2013) where Nicolas Cage plays a caveman and father of an all-star cast. This movie looks great and probably should be great, but isn't quite there for some reason. Listen this week as we teach you all about Plato, the Medici family, and cephalopods!!

Episode 65 - Stolen 14.12.2020

In this week's movie review and recap, Nicolas Cage plays Brian Mills - an ex-CIA operative who must rescue his daughter against all odds. He has a particular set of skills...oh wait...wrong movie...the movie we watched was actually way worse than that one I was thinking of...not bad, just not good. Listen to us rant about Stolen (2012), all while 5 glasses of wine (each) deep!

Episode 64 - Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance 12.12.2020

We did it, guys - we made this podcast against all odds. Those odds being "what are the odds that Steve will accidentally delete half of the audio for good?" Apparently 2/64...not bad, eh? This week, we pick up where Ghost Rider 1 left off...except not at all because Ghost Rider 2 really stretches the meaning of the word sequel. There are some quality Nic Cage screams, but that's all there is real...

Episode 63 - Trespass 30.11.2020

This week, we discuss Trespass (2011). A film in which Nic Cage and Nicole Kidman play victims of a home invasion. How exciting! There are twists and turns along the way...and to think...Nic almost walked away from this flick?!? What a travesty that would've been. Actually, this movie was pretty boring, BUT it has a few high quality screams!!

Episode 62 - Seeking Justice 23.11.2020

I'll be honest with you guys...we glossed over a lot this week. BUT that's only because there's just so much of this week's film that was utterly forgettable. January Jones was a musician? Who cares? Nicolas Cage's students are always acting up? I couldn't give two f*cks. Why do the protagonists have an incredible apartment and and a P.O.S car? Don't know/don't care. Seeking Justice (2011) is like...

Episode 61 - Drive Angry 19.11.2020

We made it! We did it! After a deleted file, hours of trying to recover it, and eventually re-recording, we can finally share with you our thoughts on 2011's MASTERPIECE that is Drive Angry. There is so much good in this movie...I cannot stress enough how much I love this type of flick. We pick it apart scene by scene as always, but don't let that distract you from the beauty that is this Nicolas...

Episode 60 - Season of the Witch 09.11.2020

Welcome back friends and fans! This week, Hanna and Steve continue their "spooky season" viewing with another Nic Cage gem: Season of the Witch (2011). This movie was not great, but fun to chat about. As always, enjoy!

Episode 59 - The Sorcerer's Apprentice 02.11.2020

What we really wanted out of this movie was for Nic Cage to be as crazy as his hair, but, alas, we were fairly disappointed as we watched a psuedo-live-action-spiritual-remake of the Fantasia - The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010). Listen this week as we discuss what could make this movie better. Enjoy and don't forget to vote!

Episode 58 - Kick-Ass 26.10.2020

Kick-Ass (2010) is actually a great movie. I highly recommend watching before listening to us spoil it. Regardless, we kick off the spooky season with a movie about real life superheroes! Nicolas Cage plays Batman with guns!! Chloë Grace Moretz is incredible!!! Hope you're all doing okay!!!! This is too many exclamation points!!!!! Not everything is this exciting!!!!!!

Episode 57 - Astro Boy 19.10.2020

Yikes! Do we have a doozy for you this week...we get extremely political as we discuss Astro Boy, the movie, from 2009. Overall, this Nic Cage movie has an all star cast, but doesn't quite capture the charm that you might see in the anime. Listen this week as Hanna and Steve discuss the original manga, Harry and the Hendersons, and Punnett squares - all while a fly buzzes around the room. Enjoy!

Episode 56 - Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans 12.10.2020

This week, we watched a crap film. I counted several things during the watching of this Nic Cage atrocity like:   Times Nic shouts "SUP?!" - 8 Times that other guy says "Whoa!" - 18 Seconds the camera holds on reptiles unnecessarily - 90+ Listening to our podcast - Priceless   It's getting late...we had fun recording though...please enjoy!

Episode 55 - G-Force 05.10.2020

Gather 'round, boys and girls and give us your ears as we discuss G-Force (2009). It's a hybrid animation/live-action movie starring Nicolas Cage, Sam Rockwell, Tracy Morgan, and Penelope Cruz (and, later, Jon Favreau) as a lovable band of secret-agent-rodents who attempt to stop global destruction. This movie is bonkers in its conception but dull in its execution. Enjoy, and thanks for listening!...

Episode 54 - Knowing 28.09.2020

What do the numbers mean??? Are they real? Are they the doing of some spooky bois? Listen this week as we discuss Knowing (2009) - the first movie where Nicolas Cage's heart isn't really in it. He gets in and out for a paycheck and we loved (?) every minute of it. As always, thanks for listening!

Episode 53 - Bangkok Dangerous 21.09.2020

Woooooo!!! This movie is freakin lit, bro! Nicolas Cage is an assassin in this one. Awwwwww yeaaaaahhhhh!!!!...Actually, Bangkok Dangerous (2008) is really just fine. It's a movie and not much more. What's more interesting is how the collapse of the housing market affects Nic's life - so listen for that!

Episode 52 - National Treasure: Book of Secrets 14.09.2020

We're back, babay!!!! And so is Nicolas Cage's Benjamin Franklin Gates for another adventure with the incredibly forgiving Abigail and the complete moron Riley. This time the crew has to hunt down a second national treasure AND clear the good name of Nic's great-grandfather. Listen as we struggle to recall National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007). Is this movie borrow a LOT from the first? Defini...

Episode 51 - Next 08.09.2020

I'm going to be straight up with you guys: we thought last weekend was the holiday weekend (hence, why the podcast is late). This week, we took a look into your future and figured you don't need to watch Next (2007) starring the stunning Julianne Moore and Jessica Biel and the wig-wearing Nicolas Cage. We ramble on about this time-travel classic movie as Hanna slowly fades to nothing and we encoun...

Episode 50 - Grindhouse 24.08.2020

This week, we talk about Nicolas Cage's racist appearance in Grindhouse (2007) - a double feature by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez...actually, he's in a fake movie preview that was played between the movies...directed by Rob Zombie. It's all very confusing, I know, but we elaborate. After about 20 minutes, we go through our list of Nic's first 50 movies - ranked by how much we liked them!...

Episode 49 - Ghost Rider 17.08.2020

Welcome back friends, to another wonderful episode where we break down one of the best Nicolas-Cage-comic-book-adaptations, Ghost Rider (2007). And it goes a little something like this...Honestly, this movie isn't great by today's super hero movie standards, but this is still a bunch of fun to watch. If, however, you don't have the time to watch, listen to us chat about it...that's what podcasts a...

Episode 48 - The Wicker Man 12.08.2020

You bitches! You BITCHES! Don't watch this movie! BAD MOVIE! You'll all hate it! And you'd do it for nothing! Casting Nicolas Cage in The Wicker Man (2006) won't save this goddam movie! Ahhhhhh....uhhhh...I don't get it...I'm not one of you! I don't like this movie! I don't like it ironically! Ahhhhhh...ahhhahaha ooooh god uhuhuh ooooh god...No don't @ me! Ahhhhh What is it? What is it? What? What...

Episode 47 - World Trade Center 03.08.2020

Hi friends, this may be the most serious we ever get on this podcast. That doesn't mean it's boring, though, so give us a listen and you may just learn something (we sure did watching this movie). Hanna points out some cool stuff about the making-of World Trade Center (2006), and Steve points out some interesting artistic choices. The movie tells the story of some of the few who survived the attac...

Episode 46 - The Ant Bully 26.07.2020

Y'all remember 1998? When A Bug's Life and Antz, two movies about ants and bugs, came out in the same year? Well, one year later, some dude tried to ride that pop-culture-cash-train with a book about ants. Then, seven years after that, Tom Hanks said "What if we made that book into a Jimmy-Neutron-style movie? People f*ckin' LOVE ants - we'll make millions!" They didn't. The movie is The Ant Bully...

Episode 45 - The Weather Man 20.07.2020

His hair! We went this whole dang podcast and failed to mention Nicolas Cage's horrid hair in the best movie you've never seen - The Weather Man (2005). It's definitely a wig right? It's so wispy on the top and doesn't match his face. Enough about wigs, Hanna and Steve break down the themes and recap some of the best lines of this movie. We get a little deep as we chat about camel toes, Nic dresse...

Episode 44 - Lord of War 15.07.2020

Apologies for the slight delay, folks! This week Hanna and Steve take a look at the 2005 film Lord of War starring Nicolas Cage (of course), Ethan Hawke (shoutout Hawkeyes), and Jared Leto (ew). This is an average movie that we had above average amounts of fun talking about, so do give us a listen. As a bonus, listen to the pain in Hanna's voice as she deals with cheese-related tummy issues!! #Sma...
