The remaining remnant runs to Egypt carrying captive the prophet Jeremiah as well, refusing to quit worshipping what they called the Queen of Heaven. Baruch is given a life-giving rebuke. And, we are warned of the perils of not progressing.

4-209 - Jeremiah 40-42 and Hebrews 5 20.10.2025

Jeremiah is given a choice, to be carried away captive to live in Babylon or to remain with the poorest of the poor in Jerusalem. The remaining remnant isn't exactly repentant. And, once again, the covenants are compared.

4-208 - Jeremiah 37-39 and Hebrews 4 17.10.2025

Jeremiah is falsely accused, thrown into prison and eventually into a deep dungeon where Jeremiah sunk into the mire. All the while, Jeremiah maintained his integrity as a prophet. And, The Word calls us to come to Jesus and find rest.

4-207 - Jeremiah 34-36 and Hebrews 3 16.10.2025

King Zedekiah is warned by the Lord. The people flip-flop on their treatment of their servants. Jeremiah is called to reach out to the Rechabites. God's word is written… read destroyed and rewritten. And, The Christ is compared to man, Moses.

4-206 - Jeremiah 31-33 and Hebrews 2 15.10.2025

The Lord looks past the discipline on into restoration once again longing for that day when the repentant remnant will return, establishing a new covenant with them. And, we see Messiah as 100% man and 100% God.

4-205 - Jeremiah 28-30 and Hebrews 1 14.10.2025

A false prophet is a fearful place to be. Hananiah finds that out first hand. The Lord sends a letter to those in captivity telling them to settle down and settle in. It's going to be exactly seventy years until you're set free. And, we see Christ is above the prophets and event the angels.

4-204 - Jeremiah 25-27 and Philemon 1 13.10.2025

The Lord lists the length of judgement. Seventy years as slaves. God gives a hint, that He may be still willing to relent if His people would be willing to repent. But, unfortunately they only talk of repentance. Paul rights a letter of redemption to friend, Philemon.

4-203 - Jeremiah 22-24 and Titus 3 10.10.2025

The Lord takes the shepherding of His people seriously. So, shepherds who feed and care only for themselves make God really angry, especially, in our reading today a king named Coniah. And, the Apostle Paul concludes his letter to Titus by talking about grace.

4-202 - Jeremiah 19-21 and Titus 2 09.10.2025

The prophet preaches faithfully. The prophet is mocked and persecuted severely. The prophet tries to keep his peace, but the Word is burning in his bones and he HAS to let it out. And, Paul spends some time teaching Titus to preach and teach.

4-201 - Jeremiah 16-18 and Titus 1 08.10.2025

The worst place that any man or woman could be, here on this earth, is on the other side of the line that God drew in the sand. And, we saw that today in our reading. And, Paul the Apostle writes a letter to another son in the faith, a man named Titus.

4-200 - Jeremiah 13-15 and 2 Timothy 4 07.10.2025

An interesting illustration, given by God to Jeremiah to communicate the worthlessness of living a life of sin and idolatry. God stops the prophet from praying for the people, as His patience ran out. And, Paul writes his final words to young pastor Timothy.

4-199 - Jeremiah 10-12 and 2 Timothy 3 06.10.2025

A warning against idolatry. A warning that idolatry will bring destruction. Idolatry that Judah indulged in as they broke their covenant relationship with God. A plot against the prophet. And, the Paul tells Timothy of the danger in the last days.

4-198 - Jeremiah 7-9 and 2 Timothy 2 03.10.2025

Weeping and wailing from the prophet and the Potentate. God Himself laments Israel's unwillingness to repent, to admit that they had more loyalty to a location then they did to God Himself. And, Paul teaches Timothy how to navigate ministry.

4-197 - Jeremiah 4-6 and 2 Timothy 1 02.10.2025

God begins to plead with His people through the young prophet Jeremiah. Pleading over and over, again and again, hoping they will repent so that He can relent in bringing judgment. And, Paul writes his second letter to young Timothy.

4-196 - Jeremiah 1-3 and 1 Timothy 6 01.10.2025

Another prophet pleading, a young man named Jeremiah, called from even before He was born. Made aware of his calling when he was still young. Given the difficult task of pleading with obstinate people. And, Paul tells Timothy to fight the good fight.

4-195 - Isaiah 64-66 and 1 Timothy 5 30.09.2025

Isaiah prays a passionate and penitent prayer asking God to relent in bringing judgement. But, God answers Isaiah saying, "Too little. Too late." God was absolutely righteous in bringing His judgment. And, Paul tells Timothy, "Do not rebuke an older man."

4-194 - Isaiah 61-63 and 1 Timothy 4 29.09.2025

God gives the good news of salvation. God gives good assurance of salvation to Zion. The Lord describes the part He will play in judgment even on the day of salvation. And, the Apostle Paul teaches young Timothy how to take heed to his true ministry.

4-193 - Isaiah 58-60 and 1 Timothy 3 26.09.2025

God speaks of true and false fasts. Ritual and religion versus reality and relationships. God uses physical pictures to teach spiritual truths. God looks forward to the joy of the millennial kingdom. And, we learn what to look for in elders and deacons.

4-192 - Isaiah 55-57 and 1 Timothy 2 25.09.2025

Isaiah opens his mouth and the word of God goes forth in the power of God to the people of God to accomplish the purposes of God, as we see preaching and proclamation as wonder-full mysteries. And, Paul exhorts Timothy to pray for authorities.

4-191 - Isaiah 52-54 and 1 Timothy 1 24.09.2025

The Sin-Bearing Servant is revealed in beautifully tragic and triumphant, poetic prose, a prophecy of the coming Christ, the Lamb of God Who would take away the sin of the world. And, Paul the Apostle writes a letter to his young protege, Timothy.

4-190 - Isaiah 49-51 and 2 Thessalonians 3 23.09.2025

4-189 - Isaiah 46-48 and 2 Thessalonians 2 22.09.2025

4-189 - Isaiah 46-48 and 2 Thessalonians 2

4-188 - Isaiah 43-45 and 2 Thessalonians 1 19.09.2025

He who formed Israel says, "Fear not." over and over and over again. Idolatry is outlined as futile, foolish and kind of embarrassing. Israel is not forgotten. Judah will be restored. Cyrus is called by name. And Paul writes his second letter to the Thessalonians.

4-187 - Isaiah 40-42 and 1 Thessalonians 5 18.09.2025

God comforts His people and reassures them that HE is for them, HE will help them and HE will strengthen them. Reminding them and warning them about the futility of idols. And, the Apostle Paul reminds the Thessalonians about the return of the Lord Jesus.
