Jeshurun Biney is a Ghanaian student studying at UNIST, in Ulsan South Korea. He sat down with us for a few hours and discussed his studies at UNIST, his transition from Africa to Korea, stereotypes in Korea, life in Ghana and eventual run for the president of Ghana in 2042. We tackle some controversial topics on here like the consumption of dog meat in Korea and religion.

Episode 7 features Mauricio Gutierrez. Mauricio contacted us a few weeks prior to arrival to let us know he was coming through Ulsan for a few days to see how the city has changed. He was a teacher in Ulsan for a few years back when the EPIK program was in it's infancy. He has since taken a job in Colombia and squashes all of the preconceptions you may have about living there!

Episode 6 features Kevin Pope, an old hand in the Ulsan community. He made is way from California to here over 20 years ago and worked his way up the ranks in the local church. Kevin is also an English teacher and has 3 wonderful children. We discuss, his rise in rank at the church, raising kids, and his ideas on retirement in Korea.

Episode 5 features Binod Chapagain from Nepal just after he arrived back in country for a visit. His fascinating story from Nepalese grocery packer to multinational businessman will warm your heart. This incredible man has lived through more experiences than most of us could dream of. His giant heart, resilience, desire to learn and succeed make this man a role model for so many.

On Episode 2 of This Korean Life, Sil, the owner of Sticky Fingers joined us for some good Ulsan banter. He shares his story on getting into the bar business, and his affinity for foreigners and live music.

Episode 4 welcomed Stacey Fells to the podcast. This amazing woman is a teacher, mother, entrepreneur, and volunteer shares all kinds of interesting stories from her time here on the peninsula. A big thanks to Stacey's mother in law for watching the kids while she stepped out for a few mins to record with us! We very much look forward to catching up with Stacey again in the near future.

Troy was kind enough to spare an afternoon on his vacation back in Korea to come and sit down for a chat. We discussed how it was being a teacher here in the 90's, running a bar in Korea, being married to a Korean, multicultural families in Korea and Canada, and transitioning back to Canada.
