Surprise episode to round of the East Asia mini-series!

The final of the big three, but not the last of the East Asia episodes, is Japan!

In the first episode of 2024 and our second part of the visit to the East Asian countries, we take a look at the gaming scene in (South) Korea. Also, yes, I had a cold while recording the introduction.

We start our trip to East Asia with an episode about the role-playing scene in China.

We conclude the Central- and Eastern Europe miniseries with another two-parter, because this country just has such a large gaming scene.

In this conclusion of the three-part season on role-playing games in Western Asia, we get a glimpse into the TTRPG scene in Israel. We discuss translation issues, investigate urban legends about the Israeli army, and learn about a role-playing game theory that has only been partly translated into English.

In this bonus episode, I talk about what has happened since October 2022 and the future of the podcast.

We continue to explore the role-playing scene in Western Asia with a little cheat - because I recorded one interview in person on the European side of Istanbul. The Turkey episode is a little bit different than previous ones since I currently live there and have met most of the fine people I interviewed.

In the first episode of the "second season" of The World of RPGs, we cover three Arab Gulf States - Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. We talk about how to present Western Asian inspired cultures respectfully in RPGs and how to translate monster names that have no equivalent in Arabic.

We end our short trip through the role-playing scene in South-Eastern Europe with the land that brought us such words as mythic and fantasy . Will this also be an epic podcasting episode ? OK, enough Greek vocabulary for now, on to Episode 3!
